Gorgeous interior, pleasant staff, natural and savory food that does not sit in your gut. More places like this need to be around..

The food is consistently excellent (in addition to being healthy and fresh). I enjoy exploring new dishes whenever I go there. The atmosphere is gentle, quiet, candlelit and provides the perfect escape from the chaos of New York City. The staff are always lovely. Nya Phing and the Tibetan dessert are exceptional. Plus it's affordable. I couldn't ask for more in a restaurant!

I was very hesitant to eat Tibetan food, but I was convinced by my husband to "try other food". It has been a week since we went to the restaurant and I still am raving about the food. The food was delicious from the appetizer, the salad, and the main course. I agree with the other reviews about the lighting, we asked the waiter for another candle and he obliged. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We have probably been to Tsampa more than any other restaurant in the city. Once we took some friends from out of town there, and when our pepper-allergic friend mistakenly ordered a dish with red peppers, they made the dish all over again without the peppers. They're very careful and caring towards their customers--zero attitude. Every single thing we've ever ordered there has been very fresh and tasty. If you like authentic ethnic food at a reasonable price and served up in a romantic but friendly atmosphere, you must go to Tsampa!

Ate here before a movie and had no worries about being late. Fast service and really homemade food. I will definitely eat here again and bring some of my friends. It is a little dark inside, but your eyes adjust after a while. Good vegetarian selection and the Tibetan bread is heavenly.

The food is great. I went there twice in the same week. The first time was thursday and everything was excellent. The second time was saturday night: we reserved for 10 people and when we arrived there there wasn't a table for us. We waited more than half hour, but the food is so good that I think it was worthwhile.
