Like a mini vacation
I have lunch at Tropicalia when I am having a particularly stressful day at work. It's like a mini vacation. The people are nice. The food is great (try the bacalhoada if you love cod fish). The coffee and desserts are always fresh (the flan is to die for). And they play soothing Brasilian music. I recommend it to everyone I know who comes to that neighborhood.

Nice people, good food
Great little local place. Several pro athletes in the area are known to stop in for the great steak, rice, and beans. Not bad coffee. A little small with more than a 5 or six people but overall a good spot for a no frills meal.

Interesting Place
Tropicalia has a lot of good things to eat. The menu is diverse, even though it's not that big. They only have a few different dinners, but they are all tasty - try the salmon. I live close and usually order take over a few times a week. But I always stop by to chat with the owner - great guy.

never again
I've ordered several times here before and it was decent Brazilian food for the price. However, I just tried to order and now they want to charge me for a cab for delivery. Really? Not even 10 blocks? Ridiculous. Never ordering from here again.

Best Feijoada In NYC
Although small in size Tropicalia makes up for it with exceptional and high quality Brazilian food. They serve the best Feijoada I have had in a long time. I live across the street and always go there for breakfast.

Nice little place on UES
Tropicalia is a great little spot for Brasilian food. The cheese bread is awesome. The local athletes have discovered that these tasty energy balls are better than any Powerbar. Try eating a few of these with an Acai shake. Good stuff. The native Brasilian owners and workers make everyone feel at home. Crepes are very good as well as the steak and rice. Not a place for a romantic dinner but very relaxed.

good crepes
I ate here once a couple of weeks ago. They had excellent crepes in a bunch of different flavors/varieties for a very reasonable price. The restaurant is small, with only a couple of tables. I don't know how well the food would travel for delivery.
