    Best ribs in nyc

The food is great. The staff is amazing especially Jennifer. Bilingual staff so even if you don't know Spanish you will enjoy the restaurant. You can't beat the value .

    Great Place

We have been customers since the restaurant was opened. The customer service has been outstanding, they treat you like friends, love kids, and despite being very busy will remember you and greet you with enthusiasm. The atmosphere is very welcoming and informal, the place is cozy, with an original tropical decoration. The food is always fresh and delicious. Everything is made from scratch (starting from the french fries). Highly recommend the "Lunch Menu of the day" and their chicken (all at good price, really delicious and enough for 2 people), many times (in our opinion) better than the more expensive "a la carte" items. The shakes or "batidas" are amazing, and an appetizer called "Mariquitas" (curly thin cut green plantains with a fresh dipping sauce) is a must try. Remember to ask for it because (for some reason) is not written in all the menus, but is always available and freshly made, perfect to compliment a meal. The coffee is delicious and if you want an exotic touch they can add a bit of nutmeg. A few times when we had ordered breakfasts they have forgotten an extra coffee or so, but when we call they send it immediately. Depending on the time of the day the place may be crowded, but they will always take good care of you.

    Not recommended

I live a few blocks away from here and started ordering from them this week. Friday night, I stayed in and ordered the ropa vieja w/ yuca fongo. It was actually pretty good, although there could have been a bit more sauce. So, Sunday I had a few friends over and we decided to order from here again. We ordered the Paella ($22) which is supposed to come with lobster and another ropa... total bill came to about $43 with tip. When our Paella arrived, there was no lobster to be found. There was an empty shell of part of the lobster body (the part you can't eat). So I called the restaurant hoping they would send the delivery guy back with a lobster claw or something of the sort... I wasn't expecting there to be an entire lobster, but at least something edible. After being on the phone with an extremely rude hostess for about 15 minutes, I decided to give up and just never order from them again. I explained the situation and the woman kept telling me the "chef said he put lobster in it"... apparently, the fact that I was looking at my paella, void of lobster and just spent $43, plus another 23 two days earlier made no difference. She tried to offer me a dessert. I explained, I didn't pay $22 for a dessert. There is much better tasting paella in the neighborhood.

    Perfect day or night!

Foods amazing, drinks are divine, and the place is gorgeous! Takes a while to find parking but it's so worth it!!! I recommend the salmon with the broccoli-mashed potatos! It's my favorite!

    Tropical sensation

I really like the food here. The service is good too. The restaurant is kind of small but that's not too much of an issue, even when they're busy they find a way to accomadate you and your guests.

Great mix of good quality food and a nice atmospheric design.

I'll keep it simple. The food is pretty good and so is the service. It's not too expensive and there are some really great lunch options. They also have a decent bar by the counter. The recommend tasting their mojitos.
