I was there for lunch recently and it went well. The service was quick and friendly, the food was good. I went back again and I was served half the portion I was supposed to get and it just did not look right - the manager knew it and the server knew it from the way they kept their distance! It was no longer the quick and friendly service, but something cold and aloof. I could not help but wonder what happened to the other portion of the food, until somebody informed me that chances are I was given leftovers after I talked to them about my experience. It is very disappointing! I am not going back again and I would not recommend it.

When this place first opened, the food was great. Now, the quality of the food is below par. The roasted chicken is old, over salted and dry. The rice doesn't taste fresh, maduros (sweet plantains) are never sweet and just taste old and soggy. I was stubborn and hopeful thinking that "this time they'll get it right" every time I craved there once upon a time good food, but after tonight's order, they haven't sprung back. I have now officially given up :(

The food is great. The staff is amazing especially Jennifer. Bilingual staff so even if you don't know Spanish you will enjoy the restaurant. You can't beat the value .

We have been customers since the restaurant was opened. The customer service has been outstanding, they treat you like friends, love kids, and despite being very busy will remember you and greet you with enthusiasm. The atmosphere is very welcoming and informal, the place is cozy, with an original tropical decoration. The food is always fresh and delicious. Everything is made from scratch (starting from the french fries). Highly recommend the "Lunch Menu of the day" and their chicken (all at good price, really delicious and enough for 2 people), many times (in our opinion) better than the more expensive "a la carte" items. The shakes or "batidas" are amazing, and an appetizer called "Mariquitas" (curly thin cut green plantains with a fresh dipping sauce) is a must try. Remember to ask for it because (for some reason) is not written in all the menus, but is always available and freshly made, perfect to compliment a meal. The coffee is delicious and if you want an exotic touch they can add a bit of nutmeg. A few times when we had ordered breakfasts they have forgotten an extra coffee or so, but when we call they send it immediately. Depending on the time of the day the place may be crowded, but they will always take good care of you.

I live a few blocks away from here and started ordering from them this week. Friday night, I stayed in and ordered the ropa vieja w/ yuca fongo. It was actually pretty good, although there could have been a bit more sauce. So, Sunday I had a few friends over and we decided to order from here again. We ordered the Paella ($22) which is supposed to come with lobster and another ropa... total bill came to about $43 with tip. When our Paella arrived, there was no lobster to be found. There was an empty shell of part of the lobster body (the part you can't eat). So I called the restaurant hoping they would send the delivery guy back with a lobster claw or something of the sort... I wasn't expecting there to be an entire lobster, but at least something edible. After being on the phone with an extremely rude hostess for about 15 minutes, I decided to give up and just never order from them again. I explained the situation and the woman kept telling me the "chef said he put lobster in it"... apparently, the fact that I was looking at my paella, void of lobster and just spent $43, plus another 23 two days earlier made no difference. She tried to offer me a dessert. I explained, I didn't pay $22 for a dessert. There is much better tasting paella in the neighborhood.
