    Poorest service in town

    I ordered a lobster salad and risotto. I was served both at the same time! They don't know any better....not done. There were maybe 3 tiny pieces of lobster in the salad. I should have gone back to DB Bistro down the street. No comparison....I will never go back.

    overpriced food

    I made a reservation for 7pm but the hostess said it was on 7:45 and can't seat us until 7:45 or we have the option to sit at the table near the bar area. I ordered the scallop appetizer (3 pieces) for $16. The scallop was pretty good, but definitely not worth the price. It was not until we almost finished our appetizer to realize that they didn't even serve us bread. They gave us 1 roll of bread after we asked for it. For entree we order the swordfish and lamb rack. The lamb rack was okay, nothing special about it. The swordfish didn't taste as great. The quality of the food is alright, but it is way overpriced!!

    Surly service, tiny portions, high prices

    Pre theater dinner - told we were placed in the smaller dining room. Brusquely taken through hotel lobby, dodging luggage , by hurried maitre'd who wouldn't even hold the door open for my wife. Room small, awkward - my wife was seated on a sofa like chair that was about 10" too low - she should have been sitting on a telephone book to reach the table. Waitress, staff were mechanical. Drinks took forever to be brought to table. Tables were cleared by pushing the diners aside. The food was good but servings were ridiculously small. My codfish was a 4" x 4" filet placed on three spinach leaves accompanied by two slices of eggplant each the size of a grape tomato. I could have had three servings and still felt like I could want more. All in all, made little sense "intra bubble", is no "triumph" during these economic times.

    Front of House Needs Work!

    I just checked out the last review based on what happened to us last week, and scatterbrained maitre d' is right on the money! We really loved this place but since they installed this maitre d' a year or so ago the front of the house and service has gone down considerably. We had reservations for 5:30 but were caught in horrific traffic. We called and said we would be late and left a cell phone number in case they couldn't hold the table. When we got there they had no idea what we were talking about and had given away our table. The maitre d' kept punching away at his computer and running between the front dining room and the back one, as if this could change things. He was running around like a chicken with its head cut off, and was totally frazzled. When we've been there in the past he was in this same mind set. We finally left because we had theater tickets. We probably won't be back, and that's unfortunate because we really thought the food was quite excellent.

    Triumphant food, so-so service

    I see that there aren't many recent reviews for this "undiscovered gem." I had dinner here on a Saturday night with my husband and in-laws after the pre-theatre diners had dispersed. Triomphe's food is excellent, but the service is not welcoming, graceful, or worthy of the dishes that come out of the kitchen. Our host was tired looking and rather scatter brained when it came to taking our coats. No smile, no greeting. The wait staff seemed panicked and unprepared for the next wave of diners: we waited 15 minutes for our drinks, when plates were served or cleared they were banged against our glasses, empty plates & glasses weren't always cleared away when new ones arrived, and we could hear quite a bit of noise from the kitchen. It was all very odd...I was really looking forward to this dinner, and as I said before, the food is great, but without the service to match it, I can't imagine we will return.

    Gem of the Theatre District

    My wife and I went here to celebrate our birthdays after an afternoon show. Early 5:30PM seating. The sea trout was one of the day's "specials" and was exquisite...probably the best fish I've ever eaten. The Maryland crab soup was sublime, and the cheesecake for dessert was light, yet flavorful. This is not "heavy" French cuisine. Somehow the chef is able to create delicious, yet understated flavors in every dish. The "Petite" room of 7 or 8 tables filled quickly between 6 and 7PM with evening pre-show diners. One waitress served all 7 tables with grace. She or another was always on hand yet unobtrusive. This place is a GEM!

    Great experience

    Located in the Iroquios hotel - just far enough from the Times Square craziness but close enough to watk to/from a show. Scallops are a must.
