Great night at Tribeca Grill
I ate here on a Sunday night around 9pm. We got a table right at the window. Service was great in the sense they are attentive but leave you alone. We received a great wine recommendation when we had trouble deciding from their hundreds of available bottles. Started with the shrimp which was seasoned so well and just delicious. For entree, we had the lamb and the pork chop. Both were so good that even as we became full, we had to clear our plates (and help with each other's!). Dessert was the peach tart. A perfect evening of food. A little expensive yes, but food was the best I've had out in a long time and the atmosphere was perfect.

Very good.
Went for Restaurant week and everything from the service to food were very good. A bit of an attitude from the person seating us but the service was superb otherwise. Will go again.

Pleasantly surprised
I had dinner here on a week night with a large group of friends. The service was quite good from start to finish, and they handled our big table well. I had the soup special, which was a yellow split pea. For an entree, I had the short ribs with chunks of bacon. Both were very, very good, with generous portions. So generous, that I could only take sample bites off other people's dessert plates. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening and I'll probably be back.

Not impressed
I am the type of person that loves exploring new food and flavors. I don't mind spending money for food when it is worth it. I was excited to go to Tribeca grill with 2 of my best friends and couldn't have been more pissed off when leaving. The beet salad was a joke. Everything was bland, including the pears which tasted like cold raw potatoes, the raisins which had seeds in them, and the light sprinkling of goat cheese which was so minimal you could barely taste it. I had the red snapper for dinner which is my favorite fish and i often order it out. The fish was extremely dry and bland, set over a bland couscous dish that offered NO compliment to the fish or any recognizable flavor. For desert our table shared 3 dishes: The vanilla panna cotta was so bad we couldn't even eat it it tasted like cold lard with no flavor. The chocolate tart was eatable but it had no jazz or excitement. The apricot tart was the ONLY thing that was enjoyable throughout the entire meal, and even that was mediocre at best when comparing it to the price and the hype of the restaurant. I've never spend so much money and been so angry about doing it.

Ehh'
My boyfriend and I dined at Tribeca Grill on Saturday night at 8pm. Oddly, we walked right in without reservations and got a two top table near the bar which was great. Our waiter had zero personality and almost looked aggravated that we were sat. He took our order and we didnt see him again until the bill arrived. For an app, we shared the tomato salad which was great. For our entree's we both ordered the filet mignon. Portion wise, it was great. It came with spinach, mashed potato and onion rings. It was a lot of food for $33. Sadly, my steak was way overcook and butterflied (They didnt ask if I wanted it butterflied). My spinach was room temp and the onion rings were cold. If we could have called over our waiter we would have, but like I said, he vanished.

Good food, but not worth the price.
Dined there about 3 weeks ago. I came in with very high expectations as I've heard friends and family rave about it. I ordered the softshell crabs which were cooked superbly. They were very fresh and very meaty. Prices aside this meal probably ranks up there in one of my top ten meals I've experienced. Now prices considered, it doesn't come close to ranking anywhere in my top ten. You can get the same quality food cooked just as well at places all along the tri state area. Now i know you're paying for the name, location, atmosphere, and the executive chef's salary. But all things considered, I feel you can get better value and equally as satisfying food at other places in the city. Just my opinion! =)
