Perfect score for the perfect place

I was definitely upset my fav grandma slice place (maffei's) closed to make way for tres carnes so I walked in unhappy that another taco joint replaced an old school neighborhood staple. First, the smell of authentic Texas BBQ got me to not walk away. Then if you look around the place is so nicely put together. Graffitti wall from local artists, wood beam celling, recycled woods and materials, open windows, and open kitchen so you can see the freshness of the food. While it like chipotle serving style, the place abruptly stops there. I ordered a brisket burrito with green rice and black beans as per the suggestion from the nice server guy. I then moved on to getting corn and guar (it cost a dollar extra which is a great value as chipotle is double this), and i like my hot sauce so I get the "kick your butt" hot hot sauce. I also got a fresh lime drink. After a few bites and sips, I realized this was the best burrito I've ever tried. The taste seriously had a ton of amazing Flavors working well together. Yes I know Tex Mex is something that's been done over and over, but this was so different. The amazing smoked brisket complimented the Mexican Flavors and other Texas accents. The music was on the lour side for a fast serve place but I found myself tapping my feet and singing along to Johnny cash. This place is unreal and I'm hooked. My only complaint is they don't have a bathroom but Starbucks next does :)

all around greatness- tex and mex collide

I read a recent story about this place and it sounded awesome: slow cooking texas influences with mexican food. So I needed to try it out. Yes there's a long line at lunch time but omg it was worth the wait. The flavours were unreal. Prepare for a flavor attack. I got the brisket burrito and a yummy churro style donut. The place was nicely done, atmosphere and music selection amazing and service was perfect with even someone by our seats asking how our experience was. The value is similar to other quick serve places but the food is so much better than any of their comparisons like chipotle or qdoba. I am hooked.
