A great find!
I have been to Tremont three times, and have been blown away each time by not only the delicious food but also the warm and attentive service! As someone who considers service on par with food when considering whether or not to recommend a restaurant (I find that a poor waiter or rude hostess can ruin even the most delicious of meals), I found the service at Tremont to be remarkably refreshing. From the friendly hostess who gives frequent updates on the status of your table, to the extremely kind waitstaff who patiently answer any questions you might have, to the owner/manager (not sure which he is) who seems always to be greeting individual diners, pouring wine, or offering glasses of rose to guests who have been waiting for their table for just a few minutes, I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It is a truly well run restaurant with delicious food, and I am so glad that Tremont has been added to the neighborhood. There should be more places like this in New York!

A great addition to the neighborhood!
I've eaten here twice now and so far it's been fantastic. The space is beautiful and simple, the atmosphere is casual and fun, the staff is friendly and reliable and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the zucchini carpaccio, the shrimp fra diavolo, the polenta croutons, the lamb chops and the special fish dishes. They offer all fresh fish so it changes daily - makes total sense. This is a great new place in the neighborhood, and I hear they are starting brunch soon!!

Should be more of this type of place
I never thought I could enjoy reading a menu that contained such interesting choice. I have just returned from Italy in a private jet and this place spolied me more than my jet assistants. I will return and probably buy the building next to it in order to be closer. I think the direction of this place can not be replicated in any other part of the city

Best new restaurant in NYC
I've been living in NYC for 5 years and this is the first review I have ever written. I've been to tremont twice in the last 2 weeks and had a great experience both times. The atmosphere is intimate - great for a date or just to catch up with friends. The manager and staff are so nice and accommodated my boyfriend and I for a late dinner. And of course the food. Love the salads- beet and tomato salads and both great, and ive had the lamp chop and the beef rib, which were amazing! Have recommended to all my friends

Holy Salt!
Very charming space but the food was very inconsistent - either extremely over salted or completely bland. The only thing we enjoyed was the grilled squid salad and the blueberry tart for dessert. The papardelle - BLAND. Polenta croutons and duck - lighten up on the salt! The zucchini salad would have been delicious had they not drowned it in salt. Hopefully the kitchen works out the kinks because the space and location are great.

Amazing Food and atmosphere!
Went to dinner here last night with friends and was blown away by the quality of food and exceptional service. We started with the grilled octopus which was grilled perfectly and was tasty! I had the poached lobster which was done perfectly and not at all chewy. Great flavor and pairing with the corn salad. Wine list was good too! Since I am orginally from Cleveland- I'm so proud to recommend and go back again and again to this fabulous restaurant!

Finally excited about a new WV restaurant
It has been a long time since I have eaten at a new restaurant that has instantly impressed me. Like the previous reviewer, I found that the service at Tremont was extremely well executed, with no attitude and no opening jitters. The restaurant was busy, but the manager still took time to chat with us for a few minutes after dinner, asking for suggestions, etc. He was friendly and charming, which was refreshing given how frenetic most new restaurants are. The food was fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious. We sampled five appetizers and two entrees and found that all of the flavors worked together and none of the dishes were too simple or too complex. Stand outs were the scallop crudo, the lamb and a seared tuna special. The only disappointment was dessert, but we were assured that they are making changes in the kitchen. We are looking forward to adding Tremont to our neighborhood dinner rotation.
