Simply perfect
Thoroughly enjoyed a fantasticallly prepared meal today with my family. Appetizers perfect, parm chunks with that aged balsamic, the calamari, the artichokes !! excellent!! then the entre's were perfect in every way - then the dessert, the cheesecake, loved it - the semi freddo, fantastic. I'm a foodie, someone who travels to find the finest and have dined all over NYC. You have the Oscar in my book. Thank you.

Pizza by delivery: poor
Tasteless, flabby and cold. It really was that unappetizing. Waste of money and never again.

Delicious Food, Wonderful Atmosphere
I was visiting a friend who lives on the Upper East Side. She and her family frequent this restaurant and recommended it to me and my family. The food was very authentic Italian and delicious. The atmosphere was comfortable and cozy - great for families.

poor service
unfoftunatly the wait staff is blamed, but 50 mins. to get a main of pasta is too much and it wasn't that good.

Poor service
I've been here several times, and at first I liked it well enough. But it is uneven, and sometimes meals are quite unpleasant. The food can be good, but it is often mediocre. The atmosphere at the front of the restaurant is nice, but the tables in the middle are cramped and harshly lit, and the bare black tables feel cheap. The service is sometimes unbelievably bad. Last night we had been enjoying our appetizers for over 50 minutes (!) when we finally asked where our main dishes were. When they eventually came, my friend was given the wrong dish. At the end, they cleared away the bowls while my friend was still chewing his last bite. Two different servers asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu--obviously their staff has no idea what's going on. Our meal took two hours when it should have taken closer to one hour. We've decided we'll never go back.

Dial up the warmth and you've got an A+
We instantly fell in love with Tre Otto when it opened and have been back many times since. The food is delicious, with generous portions; and the look offers a modern rusticism that makes you feel at ease. What's lacking is the human touch. Unlike other neighborhood favorite, Peri Ela, where the owners greet you at the door, thank you for coming when you leave, and quickly get to know regulars, I have no idea who owns or runs Tre Otto - there's no familiar face there to welcome you or say goodnight. I want to feel like they're glad to see me. At our last visit, the service was fine - we got the right meals, on time, but the specials were listed off roughly, with no personality. It felt more like a busboy was filling in as waiter. I love the food, the environment...if they could just amp up the personal warmth it could become my absolute favorite.

Great neighborhood place
I have eaten here many times since it opened. My brother came to visit from California and ate here three times in one week. The linguine vongole is tops, as is the caponata, the salads, lasagna. And the ravioli with sage! Dessert is not my favorite thing. The service is attentive. And ive never felt rushed or neglected like someone else wrote. The tables are a little close but it is a tiny space. That adds to the charm
