Toscano Wow-zano!!! The best in NYC
This is the best Italian restaurant in NYC, by far the best. A good friend recommended this restaurant to us. It is the perfect place for dinner after a Broadway matinee. Very easy to get to via the #1 subway to Houston St and a 1 block walk. From begining to end the food was superb. In fact it was the best Italian meal I've ever had and I grew up in a NY Italian neighborhood. The antipasto was fresh and very tasty. The antipasto included thin sliced salami, sliced tomatoes, cheeses, calimari, sardines, hard cheese, and buffalo mozzarella cheese ball stuffed with ricotta cheese. This was outstanding. The pasta is to die for. We had a sampler of wild boar meat sauce and a pasta stuffed with veal and prosuitto with a cream sauce that complimented the pasta perfectly--not heavy. My wife's main course was broiled sea bass that was cooked perfectly with a tomatoe sauce. My main course was broiled baby chicken with herbs. Wow! Our dinner was accompanied with a dry red Tuscanwine similar to Sangiovese. Dinner was topped off with a small slices of 2 different cakes and coffee.

Very Tasty!
We went here the other night with some friends. We all had pasta and it was so good, very fresh. The staff here is all very professional and great service. Try the spinach ravoli and the truffle pasta-to die for! The prices were also reasonable! We will def be back!

best italian
Franco is the most hospitable owner. You can tell through the taste of every dish that he takes pride in his food. The atmosphere is warm and easy going. Anything you choose on the menu will be a treat. It is my go to spot for a nice Italian meal in the city.

Best pasta!
This place has absolutely the best fresh, simple, and homemade pasta. The restaurant is not trying to be trendy or hip; just trying to serve authentic Tuscan fare. I go almost every Sunday evening for a serving of the special pasta of the day, which has never disappointed me. The staff at Trattoria could not be friendlier, making sure eveything is to your liking. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants a heartwarming and friendly experience--something hard to come by these days.
