    Now That's Pasta!

Last night we had reservations at Trattoria Toscana and we were not to be disappointed. A group of friends looking for some Italian fare, it was a first time there for all. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with its cherry wood beams and brick walls, and its tables carefully spaced not to overcrowd. We selected some dishes off of the menu, ignoring the specials except for my husband. I had ordered the seafood salad as an appetizer, which was generous enough to share. It’s calamari was tender in a very tasty lemony vinaigrette. We also had an order of the Polenta Con Funghi Porcini appetizer for the table. Golden slices covered in a marvelous mushroom sauce it’s a must for polenta lovers. My husband had the pork loin special that was as big as a piece of prime rib, while the rest of us ordered pastas, which are all homemade. Two thumbs up to the Fettucine Al Tartufo Con Funghi Porcini, in a cream sauce that was not too heavy and revealed its delightful truffle and porcini mushroom flavor through out. The homemade spinach and ricotta ravioli are done well. Tender pasta pockets of cheese and spinach, we ordered them each in the Bolognese and the tomato sauce. A bottle of a super Tuscan red wine that went well with everything accompanied the food! Service was attentive and not rushed and even a bit humorous as our waiter joked with us at times. We will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Italian meal in the West Village!

    Fabulous experience... Eccelente!

The service was great. We had a reservation and were seated by the window. It was not a busy time, on a Sunday, but the staff was very attentive and were friendly to talk to. I even learned some Italian! The food was delicious, we did not feel too full and each recommendation made was on target. We will definitely return next time we are in the area!

    Family favorite

I have eaten here several times for business & pleasure. Never had a disappointing meal or experience. Picked this to celebrate a BIG birthday with my children & young grandchildren - all loved it!

    Fresh, home-made pasta

I went here for lunch one day last summer and sat outside. My coworker and I ordered the fettuccini bolognese and some kind of ravioli. Both were amazing! We didn't expect to get fresh pasta but that's definitely what it was. It exceeded expectations and I would absolutely go back.

Best Tuscan steak & fresh fish & pasta

If you're looking for an Italian restaurant on this cozy st. full of good places to eat just ask the locals, if you're lucky enough to find one. I live next door to Trattoria Toscana . Whenever I see someone looking at the menu, at the front door I give them my personal thumbs up. I have never had anyone disappointed in my rave review. Many times I check by a quick walk in & ask how the new group like the food. They love it. That makes my day.

    Good Italian food

I was pleasantly surprised at the food. I did not feel over-stuffed and the quality was great. Very light and healthy for a traditional restaurant. I was told it's great quality of the products that make a difference.

    Overhyped

I brought my parents here when they were visiting thinking I would treat them to a neighborhood gem but the food was average at best. Would not go back.
