Trattoria Pesce Pasta

Try the seafood lasagna, savor the portobello mushrooms, dig into the pasta diablo..... this is outstanding food for the price they charge. You can't go wrong here. The restaurant is small, intimate and the food is prepared from scratch. Highly recommended.

Pesce Pasta is my favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant. I completely disagree with the review below. I have been eating at Pesce at least twice a month for the past two years and have ALWAYS experienced excellent and friendly service. I find their house chianti to be very good for the price. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and has a delightful neighborhood feeling to it. Pesce Pasta is a great, delicious, and well-priced place to dine any night of the week. It is also perfect during warmer months when you can sit outside.

The service was subpar - we saw our server twice, once to take our order and again to bring the bill. The atmosphere of the restaurant looked decent when we arrived, so we were surprised at how bad their house Chianti was - especially since that was what our server recommended. But, it only got worse... After ordering, and waiting, and finally asking 2 different servers, my salad arrived after a 20-25 minute wait. The entrees came out 45 minutes later, and were quite a disappointment too. My monk fish turned out to be sword fish, and the risotto special was bland. Even for the UWS, this place is not good.

So this place is just excellent. The food and atmosphere are both homey, warm and delicious. I was very impressed with the service. This is not a fancy Italian restaurant, but the food is of steller quality and tastes like a home cooked meal prepared by an expert chef. My girlfriend and I both loved it and will be back often.

Old tin ceiling-lights on a dimmer- french doors that are open for cool breezes- you could be in Italy. Price of food totally wonderful and taste... the next step up from wonderful. A great neighborhood place to sit , drink wine, eat and enjoy the night- no rush no push just easy.

Good antipasti selection, but the reason to go there is their great fish dishes. Prices are reasonable, wine selection is OK and the service is friendly. Your typical unassuming upper west side joint. You won't impress a first date with the ambiance, but the food is well worth the trip.
