Great!
For 22 years I've lived one block from this neighborhood favorite. Comfortable, reliable and delicious. The seating - and this is imperative in NYC - is open and spacious. No, it is not a glamour - celebrity chef restaurant. But it is dependable Italian food and wine reasonably priced in a great atmosphere. After all these years - it's become - my one block away from - home away from home.

It's not delivery, it's DiGiorno
The food here is inoffensive -- not bad, not great. Nothing worth traveling any distance for -- and there are better places further down in the UWS or further up near Columbia. But if you live nearby, it's a perfectly fine place to grab a cheap Italian red sauce meal. But one thing: MenuPages lists them as having delivery. They don't. Or, to be precise, they deliver in a "3-4 block radius," which is about as far as I can spit. Realistically, they just don't deliver at all. It's too bad -- this is the sort of middle-of-the-road food that would be great for delivery.

Really?
Way to ruin a nice place with poor service. My friends and I used to come here all the time, but I will never return after our last experience. The staff is completely rude and my veal parmigiana was frozen in the middle! What happened to this place? Used to be good...

Awesome!
I live around the corner from this place and have been to most restaurants in the neighborhood and on the uws in general. This place is the best! You spend less than a hundred for 2 people including a bottle and you eat like a king. Everything is good, chicken romano, fish, lamb shank, mussels. Staff is great, I never wait more than 10-15 minutes. The owner is always there and works his ass off to make sure everyone is attended to. I feel special when I go there. If you don't like this place or had a bad experience, you should either try it again or go see a shrink, because there is obviously something wrong with you.

The freshest food
this place has stayed wonderful. As someone who spent her summers in Italy growing up and who's entire family came over from italy - it is the only Italian restaurant my mothter & grandmother enjoy eating at in the city. it's authentic unlike a lot of imitations (sorry il mulino) and the services is so friendly - it's has a very homey feel. One of my favorite places.

Fine Food- Who's in charge?
Working in food service both as manager & kitchen i may be a little sensitive but went there last nite standing in door for a few minutes no greeting no host waiter who was clearly busy sat us with a mumble and no menu-won't go on and on the service was less than good- and the food was alright as someone said simple and could make at home-really i m struck by what people are willing to settle for from reading other views-i mean to spend $76. for two with that level of service and wine/food quality is too bad.

Little Italy
A friend told me of this cute Italian restaurant with reasonable prices and great food. Just came back and believe me, excellent all around. Appetizers, main course and desserts, toltally outstanding. We have found a new place to frequent. People are courteous and atomosphere simple but elegant. No BS just great Italian food!
