I have been to this restuarant a number of times and I recently took my girlfriend there for Vanentine's Day. The food at this place is amazing. I recommend the Filet Mignon - it is the best I have ever had. The atmosphere is great and I have never had a bad waiter/waitress. If you can request to go upstairs try to, especially if you're on a date, it's more intimate. All in all this is a great, great restaurant and I can't wait to go back.

After reading so many good reviews , we decided to try this restaurant. There are so many wonderful restaurants in NYC that it was unfortunate that we went here. Maybe it was because we had late reservations. We normally go out to the city to dine around 11pm. and very rarely have we had a bad experience, but, after reading about this place we expected the food and service to be quite good. The restaurant itself is very bright. Lights like flourescent bulbs can make your eyes hurt. We ordered the Grand appetizer platter for the table of 5. While it was ok, it was just that, ok. Nothing to talk about. The bread was hard, not brick oven hard, more like laying around all night hard. No fresh black pepper to be seen by any of the waiters. The main courses were less then ordinary. The location of the restaurant was good, being we just came back from the theater and we got a good parking spot, didn't have to fork over 40.00 in a lot. Its a shame, that out of all the varieties of wonderful restaurants in NYC, we chose this one. We go to NYC quite often and like to try different restaurants, we been to many, many of them. I'm kind of glad we tried this one, only because we know not to go here again. If your visiting the city and don't get in often, you should avoid this restaurant, as you will be disappointed. You may be better off going down to restaurant row where we are yet to be unhappy about all the great restaurant experiences there.

This is by far in my top five NYC restaurants. I know it has a "tourist trap" rep., but there's an awful lot of insider NYC folks who go. Great antipasti, great pasta, great wine (quarter litres!), and an all-around fabulous experience. We go A LOT (last time our waitress was a nightmare, but I 'll bet she won't be there long), and love it.

We loved it! Four of us sat at the bar and had wine with dinner! We made great new friends and shared great food! Entrees are big enough to share and the pizza is paper thin! Looking forward to our return.
