    Many wonderful experiences

I have eaten at this restaurant several times, since the initial discovery which was through desperation.... Loved the food! Loved the owner! Been back several times for special occasions, and happy with the result! Only once did it fail to perform... I ordered what my husband ordered the last time, and was a little disappointed... but, being a chef myself, I understand that, while good, it's hard to be perfection ALL the time.

    Embarrasing

As the others has stated the owner starts with barking the specials at you. Unfortunatly we fell for it and had to pay $40 each for a meal that wasn`t special at all. The interior is like a tourist trap in southern Europe, and the owner doesn`t make it feel less so. No, pick something else and use the money you saved for something useful.

    Good Italian Spot

Good little Italian spot. The homemade wines are the best! One of the best spots we ate at while in NY

    Not recommended

We made a reservation days before which was apparently lost. Once we were seated the owner barked the specials at us. When we ordered we were shuffled off to another table and had to take our napkins with us. The busboy took our glasses to the table but did not put them in any particular order so we had no idea whose was whose. The bread was stale and I suspect the olive oil may have been rancid. The food arrived lukewarm and was everything was overpowered by tomato. It took ages for our plates to be cleared away. When we finally got our check it was not even for our group and it took time to rectify this situation as well. When we got our proper check and paid it we were there for an additional 15 minutes waiting for change. I would NEVER recommend this place!

    lovely experience

had we read the posted reviews, we would not have recognized the restaurant we felt fortunate to have chanced upon. needing a quick place to eat on the way to Madison Square Garden, we saw an interior that was charming in an old-world sort of way - - no dance mix music blaring - - and were pleasantly surprised and pleased by food that was many cuts above the norm. Rabbit cacciatore was excellent, the pasta with squid ink exactly what it should be. The wine list was . . . unusual . . . and we got some insight as to why when, afterwards, we were intrigued enough by our experience to check out the restaurant's website, learning what a character operates this restaurant.

    Tourist trap with motif

Elvis is the theme here. Looked good on the outside in with people inside. The head waiter from Barcelona rattled off the specials of the day. Ordered from the menu veal with eggplant and procutti. One patty was fine the others rancid like left over. Tried the white sangria disappointing with barely any fruit. Grilled calamari for $12.00 barely 7 small ones delivered. Skip this trap.
