Great Neighborhood Gem!
Warm and welcoming service combined with well prepared menu choices and well-priced wines makes this Northern Italian restaurant a great neighborhood gem! It's still somewhat of a secret but quickly becoming a 'go to' for couples and singles who want delicious food with 'no attitude'.

Best place to find dinner
When I was in New York on vacation I wanted to find italian food. Thinking that the best place to find that would be little Italy. Dead wrong. Its a tourist trap. Belvedere is a block from the hotel Avalon. The atmosphere was great. After I salivated over the creamy cheese rich pasta, I complimented the chefs enthusiastically who turned out to be the waiter and the chef. After we finished our meal he came out and gave us a complimentary tiramisu. This was the best I had ever had. I left full and closer to my family and friends ever before. Leaving feeling like a family friend

Where"s the pescatore?
Went to this restaurant a few weeks ago and ordered the linguine pescatore which was described as containing shrimp, mussels, clams, scallops and calamari. There were no shrimp, no clams, 3 or 4 mussels, a sprinkling of miniature scallops and calamari.

Forget 5 stars, I give them 10!!
One word...Amazing! I have been living in NYC for 4 months now (originally from the UK) and have eaten in many little italy restaurants that aren't a patch on this adorable hole in the wall! DO NOT be put off by the smaller menu than normal, there is something for everyone and the fact that they offer a smaller amount of dishes means that every dish is cared for more than mass produced rubbish! Also the incredibly lovely waiter went through a list of specials to us personally, which added a hefty chunk to the already difficult to decide menu! When the food arrived every single thing was delicious! Piping hot/cooked to perfection/seasoned beautifully/presented well and just overall, damn tasty!! having lived with an italian for over 6 years and a mother who writes cookbooks, I know good food when I taste it and mmm this was yummy! The service was super! the waiters were so attentive yet not in your face, helpful, friendly and even brought us a free tiramasu for dessert!! after we had been chatting to them a little, which topped off the evening splendidly! I'm currently an intern so value for money is key with me! and I can say the value for money was again brilliant! I always choose the most expensive meal by accident, and even with a starter, main and a shared bottle of wine (from an excellent wine list), my check came to $60 with tip and tax! We did go on a Wednesday night, and walked straight in, but obviously weekends will be busier and a booking is recomended as always with NYC restaurants on the weekend! the decor is rustic and cute with wine bottles lining the walls! overall a warm, friendly, relaxing and delicious place to eat good/authentic italian food in NYC! Perfect for couples or families! I will certainly be returning to this restaurant very soon!!

Good versus Evil
Good - Bottle of olive oil on table. Bad - Sticky, dirty laminated menus. Stale bread basket. Good - Calamari appetizer, grilled, topped with breadcrumbs. Bad - Pasta special not cooked al dente, drowned in an ocean of tomato-cream sauce. Good - Large portion of salmon. Evil - Cook was heavy handed with the seasoning. Very Evil - The salmon was served with a side of frozen vegetables. Evil has triumphed. We won't be back.

Wow
My boyfriend and I happened to stroll by this restaurant last night. The inside was so adorable and welcoming, we had to go in. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was romantic and homey. The food was unbelievable. Our waiter greeted us at the door explaining that they had many specials that were not on the menu. They were right, and I tried them. My boyfriend ordered the mushroom ravioli for the main coursre, and when he offered me a bite he said, "Get ready for an explosion in your mouth." WOW was he right. I've never tasted anything like it. I told our waiter they should win an award for the ravioli. Everything was awesome. You must try this restaurant!
