Had a wonderful dinner w/my husband at this perfectly romantic trattoria. We were impressed by the prompt and courteous service and the food was plentiful and well-prepared, although we stuck with tried and true Italian favorites since this was our first visit. There's not a thing to complain about; we will definitely return.

This is my favorite restaurant in Murray Hill!! The service is always great and the food is yummy! They always have great specials, including a delicious seafood dish that comes with a whole lobster and a great ribeye steak! Also, their homemade pastas and desserts never disappoint. And to make things even better, the prices are very easy on the wallet.

My boyfriend and I live in the neighborhood and are regulars at Alba. The food is terrific, the atmosphere is wonderful and the service is friendly and attentive. The staff will indeed prepare dishes that are not on the menu (my boyfriend asks them prepare thick cut spaghetti with their spicy red sauce and chicken breast regularly for him and they never refuse). Alba is comfortable with terrific lighting. It is intimate and seems hushed even when packed with patrons, so it is ideal for a romantic evening or for those who hate noisy restaurants. It is a joy to introduce friends who have never been to Alba to the pleasures of this jem.

Very attentive staff, large menu with great selection, nice atmosphere unlike many other crowded nyc restaurants. I will definitely go back.

My girlfriend and I went for her birthday. We did go early, but from the little things (not lighting the candle) to the big things (pasta being hard) we were dissapointed. For a place that isn't so light on the wallet, the food was unimpressive. Her tortellini was very hard and my linguini was no better, with what seemed like canned clams in a cheap tasting wine sauce. They serve Mexican style salsa instead of Italian-style. The atmosphere was nice, but I couldn't eat the walls. Overall, disappointing.

As locals we frequent Alba and have always had a wonderful experience. The wait staff is superb. The specials can be quite enticing. The menu items are always consistently excellent. Note: Beware of the bartender's especially hot bloody mary.
