Been there 50 times always great food at a fair price. The wait staff is right there and the specials are great...whoever wrote the review about it being pricy does't eat out much in NYC,,,this is a great value for the complexion of what you get. Rusty. NYC E 34th Street Resident

I have walked by this place a hundred times, so I thought it was time to try it. The food was fine nothing overly memorable, but it was good. However, it was so over priced. There are so many Italian restaurants in Manhattan, no need to run to this one- unless it is 10 degrees out and you want to be close to home - i.e. last night.

We showed up on a recent Saturday night and were very kindly led to a nice table even without a reservation. It is really a neighborhood place and the atmosphere was very nice; service lovely. However, I really wished they had tried a little harder with the food. Seems to me that my tortellini in cream sauce with walnuts had come from a microwave oven. It arrived, plate scorching hot with a few dried walnuts tossed on top. I guess I'd had some vision of a walnut sauce. My dinner partner's chicken had also received a microwave touch. Again, such a shame, since both dishes are easily made fresh. Finally dessert was very nice - imported from Payard. But - that's fine since if you're not going to make your own pastry, at least you can offer the very best. All in all a pleasant experience and I won't mind going back but such a shame they can't make more of their kitchen.

Trattaria Alba manages to exceed all expectations after every visit. The food is consistently delicious and the service is fantastic. We almost chose not to write a review bc we dont want the secret to get out.

The food here is excellent! The pasta is always al dente, they don't lack in portion on the caprese, the sauces and meats are always fresh. The service and atmosphere also can't be beat. I'm italian and I am very picky when it comes to good food and this place is very impressive!

One of my friends who lives in midtown took me out to dinner recently at one of her favorite places, Trattoria Alba. When we got there, it looked very nice from the outside, but was even more beautiful on the inside. Lighting was perfect and was very cozy on the inside. We were welcomed by a hostess with a beautiful smile and a very friendly waiter. The restaurant just put in a brick oven and make fresh bread before dinner. After tasting the bread, we decided to try a pizza as an appetizer and loved it. Its new so hasn't boomed yet, but is probably the best pizza I've had anywhere in NYC. Once everybody hears about the pizza Trattoria Alba has, it is going to take off. Not to put down my main course, because it was also great but I will make sure I am back there soon. This time for the pizza.
