This is quite simply the best Italian restaurant in the Theater District/ Hell's Kitchen area. The combination of great flavor, service, and Italian wine (especially the reds!), nice ambiance, and great desserts makes this a wonderful, simple experience. This is a small, cozy place, nothing fancy but if you have been to Italy or would like to someday, this restaurant offers a nice little taste. My family is of Italian heritage and we all went there after seeing a broadway show and loved it even more than the piece we watched. The pastas are all home made, so is everything else! They have great inexpensive Italian wines and the wait staff is made up of servers from around the globe. The pizza is the best in NYC and the entres are all delicious. Great place to grab dinner after a show or on the weekend.

My husband and I love to try new resturants. We went to the city twice this week and my husband wanted to try NYC pizza. So here we are on 46th st. and we see Tramonti. They had pizza ,so we went in. It is not very big but who cares!! It's still a very lovely place. As soon as we walked in ,they were there to great us. We ordered 2 appetizers, I had the fried breaded mozzarella with anchovy sauce,(sooo goood) I felt like I was in heaven!! My husband had fried calimari, he said was excellent. We ordered pizza which was very fresh, probably the best we ever had, and I am Italian if that helps. Everything is fresh and homemade, judging by the pizza I am sure the homemade pasta dishes are delicious too!! As a matter of fact we will be going there again for some pasta. We were to full for the dessert, but they sure sounded good, and the waiter(who buy the way went out of his way to make us happy) said they are also homemade, I'll try them too. My husband and I walked away both saying we hit the jackpot. This restaurant sure left a taste in our mouths for more and we will most surely be returning soon. What a great place!! You will be happy you tried it.

This place is great not only for pizza but, also for the entrees. Can't beat the prices and really cute atmosphere.

I ventured into this spot based on their menu stating that 'All of Our Meat, Chicken & Fish Are Natural or Organic' and 'soy Cheese Is Available On all PastaÍs. all of Our PastaÍs Are Available Gluten Free' only to find that wasn't the case at all. they did have one gluten free pasta (which was delicious) but there was no soy or organic anything. in fact the waiter seemed somewhat frustrated at my asking if there was as it seems many people had come there seeking such. the pizza that they state on the menu without cheese does come with it but i just moved it over to my boyfriend and he happily chomped it down. the service was rather slow (we were sitting near the front and it was hard to flag down a waiter for nearly anything... including their picking up the check) but my friend's fish was purportedly excellent, they have a fine selection of italian wines, the fried pizza dough at the bar is delicious and the desserts got rave reviews from my friends. that being said, if you're looking for soy cheese/vegan/organic friendly this isn't the place to go but if you're looking for a nice italian place this just might be.

My first visit to Tramonti was when my Prof. Merenda invited the entire class to visit and review the restaurant, it's food, and decor. The food was absoloutely delicious, not to mention the wide assortment of desserts. Today is Nov. 6, 2006, and I getting ready to go back there to celebrate my honey's birthday. I am looking forward to some great food.
