Superb
The atmosphere was great. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The calamari was simply devine. We had 4 people. 2 appetizers were sufficient for all. Pasta for all with dessert and expresso. the bill was $130 including tax. You can't beat that!

Hold on to your Wallett
Made the mistake of not asking what the price of the special lunches were. The waiter did mention they were not the same price as the separate specials menu. Lunch for two (two Pasta's, two Salads, two coffees, 1 house wine, 1 desert) came to over $100.00, I have been to much better restaurants in NYC, both parties getting wine and the price was in the range of $70-$75, I felt dumb and taken. The coffee was awful, the salad good and the Pasta fair.

Terrific food, plesant decor
We went to Tramonti before the theater and thought the food was excellent. We both ordered the arugula salad with orange and fennel. Terrific! I had the beef and veal lasagne which was surprisingly light and extremely flavorful. My partner had talapia fish in a wonderful brown sauce. Prices are reasonable given the high quality of the food. The staff is professional and very friendly. Tramonti is a cut above the typical Theater District restaurant. Highly recommended.

Fantastic
I've lived in Italy and know Italian. This place is fantastic! It's not white linen, it's not family style, it's casual, authentic, and the service is superb! I had the veal lasagna speacial and it melts in your mouth! My wife had the asparagus ravioli! The Tiramisu was perfect. Gnochi was average. Tip: know your italian wines, Napa wines were very limited.

hoped for more
While the service was impeccable, the food was not. The calamari app was overcooked. Rings were chewy and legs were tough. Also, the shrimp were overcooked with that app as well. The brushetta is sliced bread topped with cold, marinated, halved tomatoes. I've always had this served hot at other restaurants. The veal was tasty and not mushy. The gnocchi were excellent - small, only slightly firm and not chewy. The special (chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto and spinach) was not very tasty. My dining companion ended up stripping the chicken of the filling and eating the chicken by itself. The house chardonnay and pinot grigio were great and the bartenders serving of Grand Marnier was very generous.

My Favorite Place
I came upon Tramonti when it opened last year and have been going back ever since. I bring friends, family, cannot get enough of the place. Excellent food, fantastic and personal, friendly service, and I never walk out of there without a complimentary after dinner drink or some biscotti. Also, the food is organic, so the flavor and taste is like none other. Highest recommendation.

Delicious food at a great price!!
I just came back from meeting a friend here for dinner...it was recommended to me by a co-worker. The food was fantastic! The menu doesn't do the place justice as the best things they offered were their specials. And their house wine was great as well. And then to top it off, they had pretty good service and a great/clean atmosphere. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! You wouldn't expect to find a place like this near times square, but the whole block on 46th from 8th to 9th ave seem to have decent restaurants.
