The service was unfriendly, the portions tiny and the taste very average. On top of that you have to order and pick up your own food. Still searching for decent Mexican food in NY and still haven't found it.

I recently hosted a party at Tortaria and was so impressed with the place. I knew the food and drinks would be great (they always are) and I love the decor, but it was really the employees that made everything run so smoothly. They were professional, organized, attentive and very friendly. As a result, I was able to actually have fun and socialize with my guests instead of worrying about when the food was coming out. So many of my friends have told me what a great time they had and have actually been back since. Tortaria has a great vibe, delicious food and drinks at great prices, an organized staff, a solid playlist plus it's in is in a central location - you can't really ask for more. Good pick for a quick bite or a party venue.

I celebrated my birthday here, and while the service could be better (table service for groups only) they were very sweet to us! On top of which, the important part, the food was fresh and delicious, and the house margarita surprisingly strong for $5! I'm definitely going back :)

This little Mexican shop that popped up on the corner of University was a pleasant surprise as I walked home from class one afternoon. The Carne Asada Taquitos were ridiculous and the corn on the cob was pretty amazing. The decor in the space is pretty cool as they've dressed it up like a rundown Mexican grocery store. I didn't have a drink, but saw the bartender squeezing an orange directly into a lady's margarita - talk about fresh!

Small portions for the price. $2.75 buys literally 2 tablespoons for a side of guacamole.

It could have been good; but the slow, unfriendly service, the cold, soggy, and bland food, makes this place one you could skip.

The decor alone was enough for me to love this place but the quality food is what puts it over the top. I highly recommend both the Pesce Torta and the Pescado Taquitos and do not miss out on the Plantain Chips! Of course, their tequila bar didn't hurt either.
