We drove in from out of state unprepared (I normally do restaurant research prior to departure). We decided to give this Thai restaurant a try from an employee MoMA recommendation . What a great find! The flavors were well balanced and cooked to perfection. Service was fast. We appreciated that they accepted us without a reservation. Out of consideration; we quickly ordered so they could turn over the table for a reservation at 7 pm. Will not hesitate to go again.

I have been eating at Topaz for over 15 years and have never had a bad meal. The food is authentic -- and by the way reviewers, the owners have always been the same and they are from Thailand. It is fabulous and inexpensive! If you work one block away and can't get off your butt and go there in person, well, you have bigger issues! Who eats lunch before 12pm anyway?? It is crowded but the turnover is quick and they are fast, don't let the reviews keep you from going!! Yes, Thai people actually work there and may not always speak perfect English. If you want a different experience, don't eat international cuisine. A+++++++++

Lunch is amazing at this place. I loved the basil chicken (minced, very flavorful sauce, with just the right amount of spice with a side of boiled chinese broccoli) The appetizers and free shrimp chips with peanut sauce is a nice touch! healthy, great tasting, and affordable.

I wanted to order from here for lunch based on the great food reviews but was very wary given the reviews claiming extremely slow deliveries. I am SO glad that I took the risk!!!! I was shocked when the food arrived in 17 minutes. At first I thought "oh no, its going to be bad because it must have been sitting around." But I just finished eating it and it was SUPERB and fresh. I ordered the pad see ew so it is possible that certain dishes do take longer, but do not be afraid to order based on previous reviews about delivery times...maybe they just had a bad day or bad delivery person.

Based on the previous reviews, we decided to head to Topaz tonight. We were seated promptly and we ordered the mock duck and the prig king. Both had to have had several day's worth of salt. The prig king was in a brown sauce, rather than a normal chili sauce, which tells me this is Chinese Thai. The waiter cleared our plates and asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We said we would, and twenty minutes later we went to the bar to pay the tab because our waiter had never returned.

They open at 12, and you can not order before- even for pick up or delivery. There is always a wait for a table if you choose to eat there. The food is pretty good and no other Thai option in the neighborhood, but your best bet is to order in advance and pick it up to go. Expect at least 30 mins for pick up.

I work in the area and have tried twice now to order delivery. First, they open and 12 noon and will not take orders before that time. When calling at noon, I spent 20 minutes dialing and redialing before the line was not busy. Second, once I was finally able to speak with someone to place my order, they were rude and quick on the phone. With a very heavy accent it was hard to understand the order taker, and vice versa. Third, the first time I ordered delivery it took 1 hour and 25 minutes to arrive. I work in an office building one block away!! The second time I ordered (today) it has been an hour and the food still has not arrived. After spending 20 minutes trying to speak to someone to make a formal complaint, again the line was busy. When I finally got ahold of someone, they said the delivery guy was on his way. It's now a total of 2 hours and the food did not arrive. I've eaten in the restaurant once. The food is slightly above average, but it is absolutely not worth the grief of delivery. If you want to try the food I suggest eating at the restaurant (good luck with getting a table at lunch time or dinner time).
