Went here recently with my girlfriends for lunch and it was superb. Food was delicious and it arrived hot as opposed to some places where its lukewarm. Service was pleasant and quick. Menu very varied and I like that you can stipulate your spice level. Only thing - show up early - we got there at 12noon and were straight in, 20 minutes later the line was huge! Its a little small so dont expect to be able to sit and chat once you have finished eating as they will need your table!

I just got out of Topaz Thai this evening. I am a native New Yorker, not a tourist, but TT is not in my neighborhood, so I only occaisionally eat here. I have enjoyed my previous experiences here, but not this one. The atmosphere and service were fine. But I am downrating TT because it is a terrible value: the price that you pay for the quality of the food that you get is totally not worth it. I will not come back unless someone else is paying... Here is my experience in detail. I ordered pineapple curry. My dish arrived in a reasonably timely manner. It consisted of about 7-8 medium-to-small sized shrimp, about 10 pineapple chunks (fresh or canned I could not tell, as they were cooked at this point), and the sauce, an ok tasting but somewhat watery and totally underspiced coconut milk concoction. And thats about IT! There were maybe a few peppers in the curry sauce, but barely anything else. I am sorry, but this dish needed a lot more other stuff. Onions, potatoes, carrots, cilantro, string beans--I don't know, but a whole lot more vegetables for sure. I have had as good or better Thai curry at places in Manhattan that charge half the cost. I also ordered a bowl of rice, as they are so cheap that they do not give you any with the dish itself. Out came a tiny bowl, about 1/3 to 1/4 of what I normally eat at a meal. I am sorry, but for the price ($13 pre tax/tip) that I paid for this dish the rice should have been free and more plentious. Who knows how much they charged for this tiny bowl. I came out of this restaurant barely satisfied, and had to eat some snacks once I got home. To all the people who gave this restaurant such glowing reviews: either Sat night has the B team crew, or else you guys have really low expectations. Any Thai people read this website? Where do you guys go for good Thai food in Manhattan? Can't be this place, thats for sure. I bet that it embarasses you. (I lived 7 months in Bangkok last year, so I have an idea what real Thai food is like.)

I go here often with co-workers. Three important things - fast service, cheap eats, and yummy food! I like spicy and I think the Jungle Curry dish with pork is one of the best things on the menu! I've never been disappointed. Highly recommend it!

I keep coming back to this place - the dishes are consistently delicious and flavorful. The restaurant is very tiny, but it has great atmosphere. Love this place!

I have been to this restaurant many times for lunch and have not ordered something I did not enjoy. The food is great. You won't be disappointed. If you do decide to go here for lunch make sure you arrive by 12:00, as the place could get crowded.

The food is excellent - it's the best Thai place I've been to in NY. For a vegetarian, the menu had several options and the food was excellent.

My co-workers and I go there few times a week. We just love the food there very much, each dish is great! have no disappiontment so far. This little place filling up quickly, if you get there after 12:30pm, you will have to wait to be seated, that's how good they are.
