I have ordered food from Topaz several times. Topaz is not terribly expensive, and the food is quite good. They are also very quick. I now order dinner from Topaz at least once a week. An order of shrimp chips with peanut sauce is free with dinner.

Been there once and thank god that was the only time I had to be there.. Food wasn't impressive at all and portion was too small to have as a meal. And service was poor.

This was a favorite lunch spot of mine. Lately I've been scowled at when showing up at noon dining solo. I was seated today at a deuce, squeezed between 2 other parties conversing at ear-splitting volume when a friend appeared and I invited him to join me. Apparently, our waiter resented this and 'punished' us by withholding the free appetizer, barking 'no' when we asked to move to the table against the wall which became vacant, a mere 2 inches from our elbows, then bringing my friend's entree and silverware 15 minutes after I had been served. I left a 50-cent tip, an appropriate sum for the service we received, and I was pursued out of the restaurant onto the sidewalk (!) by our waiter, angrily spewing insults in uninteligible Thai-English. When I explained that we were treated rudely, he responded that I had 'lied' about being a party of one, and thus merited the treatment we got. Apparently, he felt we should tip well even so! I love the food here but will not be going back. If you choose to dine here, be on your best behavior!

We have been to Topaz twice in the past year and look forward to returning. The food is wonderful and the prices are exceptional - it is actually possible to have wonderful Thai food in NYC without breaking the bank.

I have tried a few Thai restaurants in this area and like Topaz the best. "Gang Som Pak" soup (hot and sour) is really good. "Tao Hi Maa Paan" brings out various hot and sweet flavors of the dish. For vegetarians, "Pad Prik Khing" and "Vegetable Duck" are delicious. And don't forget the Thai tea. My only gripe is that if you want it hot, they will give you the hot sauce on the side (where it becomes difficult to mix it in the dish). Try it... you will love this place.

Small space could use a little updating, but the food is exceptional in both taste and value. Try the Tom Kah Gai and Peanut Curry. The best Thai in the City and I've had them all.

Definately among the best thai restaurants in the City. The food was delicious! (especially the Bangkok Shrimp and the Jungle Curry) Although I wasnt a fan of the Pad Thai, but the service is good and restaurant and small and quaint.
