Let me just start by saying that I don't have much of a sweet tooth. However, when I tried the Red Velvet cupcakes for the first time, I decided that this would become my guilty pleasure. The freshness, moistness, perfectly measured icing portions, flavor, and of course presentaion, was all I needed to convince me that Tonnie's Minis is definitely #1. I have tried many different kind of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies, etc., but never felt that ooooh I'll be back feeling. Now, let's just say some of the staff there even know me by name!

I've been visiting Tonnie's Minis from the beginning and I had the pleasure of trying them before he even had a shop (at a wedding shower). They are perfectly moist and not too sweet. He doesn't put too much icing on them, so that you have to wipe half of it off. This place is a gem in the city. I hope they open some more locations soon.

I have been going to Tonnie's for years and like his cupcakes. However, the last 2 years in the a row I have ordered a birthday cake and both years the order was messed up. The only reason why I go to Tonnie's is for his chocolate cake icing and he put all vanilla on the cake - they way he made it up? $5 off (cakes are expensive here) and he threw in MORE vanilla cupcakes. How about MAKE THE RIGHT CAKE! I will never go here again, too many other places that actually want to correct their mistakes and do right by their customers.

Tonnie's are by far the best in the village--much better than crumbs or magnolia. Always moist and their icing is delicious. Also, they're the perfect size--none of these gigantic things no one person should finish that exist in other cupcake stores. Also, they have a new location on MacDougal, between west 3rd and Bleeker, right around the corner from the original location, that has a nicer atmosphere.

I have been a fan from the begining, over looked the neighbor he shared with the cheese steak place. Now there on Macdougal, st And are selling my favorite carrotcake cupcakes which will go down in history for being the best you will ever have.

I have been on a little cupcake tour of the city mostly in the west village area & tonnies minis was on the list.....I am done with the tour these are the absolute BEST cupcakes and they are so cheap! I went in one evening to sample some of their flavors..yes it is small & shares the space with a BBQ place but who cares eat it outside or take it home! The guy behind the counter was very friendly he explained all their flavors. I got the buy 4 for $6 (which is such a steal when some places charge $3.50 for a cupcake!!) I got regular vanilla, coconut, vanilla cake with chocolate icing, and strawverry. I took them all home and did a taste test and was blown away! They are moist and soft and the icing is perfect! I'm not a big fan of chocolate cake at all, I like vanilla all the way so I wasn't expecting much. That chocolate cupcake was amazing the best one! The vanilla, coconut & strawberry (which I was a little skeptical about at first) were all delicious as well. Tonnies rocks & its cheap...go there!!

We have a rule here at Tina Pearson Salon - all desserts come from Tonnie's! We don't allow any other cakes or cupcakes through the door. Our favorites are chocolate, chocolate mini-cupcakes, Carrot Cakes, and red velvet anything! We order for all of our employees birthdays and for wine and dessert night! You will not be disappointed! I promise! The cupcakes are moist and soft and delish! The mini cupcakes fit right in your mouth and are so good you can't really just eat one.
