One of a kind
I have been going to Tom's since birth. Nothing can beat its ham and cheese omelet, home fries, rye toast and the must try cherry lime ricky. The tacky, classic diner decorations only add to the experience with the round the year dancing santa to the rainbow lollipop at the end. As a kid the former owner, used to give me 50 cent pieces, a great place with great staff and assured great memories.

so american so brooklyn
Ever since I moved to the neighborhood 4 years ago, I've been a big fan of Tom's. It's a heart-warming, down-to-earth restaurant that still carries the 'back-in-the-day' look and feel. Waiting time could be long if you get there after 11, but waiting is part of the fun going to Tom's! Getting cookies, coffee, juice etc... you just have to experience it. I love their pancakes (pumpkin is my fav) and waffles. My husband loves their crab cake. Service is quick and nice. (FYI Since I live nearby I usually go around 9 on weekends, and you usually get seated right away)

Bk CLASSIC
Great food but more importnatly the atmosphere is the best. You're part of the family. Worth the wait. I recommend the harvest pancakes with a side of pork sausage.

just another happy customer
a friend took me here one random weekday morning. it was like going home to the experience of being in a movie about home. everyone who works there is beautifully wonderfully warm and treats you like a cohort. the food is what it should be and it's just so pretty and cozy inside. the lady who refills your coffee reaffirms you no matter how ragtag you may appear to the rest of the world. dining as therapy.

Toms restaurant a Classic gone Wrong
Always ordered breakfast here and its ok, but there's other cafes near that do not have a line around the corner, and there food is of much better quality. Was just home reviewing Toms restaurant on menu pages and figured I would order from them it looked ok for lunch. I called and heard the phone ring twice then nothing, then a man comes on the phone and asks hello. I say I would like to place an order, and he begins to yell and say "why you an't answer when I said hello to you over three times. now hold on." he drops the phone. Then someone else comes on the phone and and tries to take my order. I proceed to give him my address for a delivery and I inform him my number has a (347) area code, and he proceeds to argue with me that 347 doesn't go anywhere it must 718. After 5 MINUTES!!! of going back and forth I tell him to cancel my order (I didn't even tell him what I wanted to eat yet), he said fine I don't your order anyway. Not cool.. will never call again.

best restaurant breakfast ever!
This was absoultely the best out breakfast of all time, if you don't mind a little crampedness. The sweet potato pancake, home fries and beef sausage tasted like at home. The vanilla egg cream and ricky were superb as well. I don't usually like to go to restaurants more than once, but I see myself coming back 2-3 more times with family members and friends
