That toro.....
....is so damn good! It's buttery and melts in your mouth. Tomoe is a little pricey for my budget but I never regret going there and spending my hard earned dollars on some of the best fish in the city. The service is fast and the quality is second-to-none. The atmosphere is just a simple, wooden sushi restaurant. But for what they lack in trendy style they undoubtedly make up for with excellent quality. I live right around the corner so whenever I walk by Tomoe I always have a little stomach rumbling.

Bravo! ~^.^~
My hubby & I always go to this sushi place. We've found that this is the most wonderful, extraordinary sushi place ever with a great value in the city. If you are serious about fresh sushi & sashimi, don't go anywhere else. The waiting line is long, but totally worth it.

Brilliant!
The long wait outside is worth it! A definite must, EXCELLENT Japanese food outside of Japan!

One of the best places for sushi
Tomoe has really fresh and tasty sushi. The pieces are pretty big compared to other sushi places I've tried. There noodle soups are very nicely cooked with the right texture. Although the price is pretty high for my budget, I still think it's worth the price. A definite must.

Best Sushi I've had thus far
Just because it doesn't look pretty doesn't mean we should ostracize it. So what if they don't cut the fish in an exact dimension or size... it was still the best peice of toro sashimi I've had in a long time.

Good for just filling you up
I appreciate authentic Japanese sushi (ie: bite-sized) but I love indulging myself at places like Tomoe and Yama anyway. If you're just in the mood for huge cuts of fresh fish, and nothing artistic or well-cut, go to Tomoe. It's good bang for the buck, so long as you don't mind the hour-long waits outside.

Yum!
Best sushi in the city and the waiters aren't snooty
