    Those Tacos Though!

WOW! My best friend and I were on a girls trip and came across Toloache while we were walking around! We started with the Guacamole (Medium) and it was so good we practically licked it clean! We both ordered Margaritas, she had the house and myself the mango. Um, yum best marg ever..you know it's great when you can actually tell there's tequila in it! For dinner I ordered the Bohemian-Braised Brisket Tacos, they knocked my socks off! BRAVO, Toloache and Thank you for such a delicious experience! :)

    Excellent

Food was fresh, tasty, and very nicely presented. Waitress was charming and helpful. Conversation was difficult because of the noise. Prices were New York prices but worthwhile. I'm looking forward to returning.

    Outstanding!

This place is a gem! We wanted a fun, but nice place in the Theater District, which is always a tough area to find a good restaurant. After checking reviews, we booked a table. Wow! -- the food, the service, the atmosphere, the attention to detail -- was top-notch. This is NOT your typical, trite, Mexican-American fare. They have a top-quality, authentic Mexican chef who prepares brilliantly creative, delicious Mexican dishes with exceptionally fresh ingredients. We had a party of four and started with the guacamole sampler (three kinds: traditional, fruity, spicy) and the house margaritas. Perfect. We each ordered different entrees. All were exceptional. We even ordered desserts, and they were also very fresh, very creative and delicious. This is now one of our favorite places. The waiter was delightful (Raul) and the manager (Victor) came over and told us about how hard they are working to make sure everything is done right. Mission accomplished.

    Best guacamole on earth?

All the reviews talk about the tacos here, and the tacos are very good (classic Mexican style). But you come to this place for the guacamole. Toloache has a guacamole bar. A guacamole bar. Two guys just making perfect, utterly delicious guacamole fresh to order, all day long. Order the guacamole trio, whatever you do. Take my word for it. I'm from TX, and this is one of the few NYC places that would do well in Houston or San Antone (with lower prices). Yes, the place is pretty expensive, and the portions are small. My wife & I only come for special occasions. But that guac is to die for, and the other dishes very, very good (for the East Coast).
