Where friends go to meet friends

I just moved to the Upper West Side and found Toast to be the perfect neighborhood place. The staff always takes good care of me and my family. The menu has a little of everything, and everything is so good. The specials keep my interest because I am there 4 to 6 times a week and really the like the fish specials. I have one complaint, that Mac n Cheese is so good and and don't have the time to go the Gym and work it off !!! Oh by the way the Frozen Margaritas are AWESOME and I usually drink Jameson. Go there and enjoy yourself you deserve it.

    Amazing Bartenders

We hit this place everyday for a few pints and food. 3 out of the 4 barkeeps were great making the experience that much cooler. We kept coming back b/c of the employees and that pretty much sums it up. If you are close then you should stop in for a pint or some grub. Cheers.

    Subpar Service for Delivery

Had an absolutely terrible delivery experience here. Was given a very hard time about not meeting the minimum total (by <2$!). Adding insult to injury, the food arrived very late (1.5 hours delivery) - had to call twice to check on the status - and when it finally arrived, was missing my drink order. Waste of time, money, and frustration. Order from somewhere else.

    i <3 this place.

Consistently amazing food. Great price. chill atmosphere. what more could you want in a restaurant? oh yeah... a good selection of beers (which they have as well). I usually get the "Danish Burger" which has a hefty helping of blue cheese folded into the ground meat before it's cooked. When I'm in the mood for something less heavy, I get the smoked salmon wrap with a salad (which can be substituted for fries for no extra charge). Almost everything on the menu is priced under 10 bucks aside from the entres section. If you're looking for great food (and good beers) for a fair price check this place out for sure!

    The worst service

I used to enjoy going there for brunch on a saturday. The last time I went was 8/17/08. As my girlfriend and I enter the resturat there where severally empty tables, the waitress wanted to put use in the worst table in the place, directly next to the kitchen, where it is loud form the cooking and pots and pans. I asked her if we could sit at another open table, she sat us down at a much pleaseing table. When she decided to take our order, I told her that I would like the goatcheese and toast (I have always order that for brunch), as I gave her that order, she just stood there as she had no idea what I was talking about, so I repeated to her in another way and then she was like, I know what it is, that is on our dinner menu (in as rude of a way it could be said). I told her the fact that I have always order that and Im sure the wont have a problem making it. I continued on with my order. Will each have a BLT, speaking for my gf. well as she stood there with her arms on her hips, I finished my order. She brought us one coffee when we ordered two, she brought us one sandwich when we order two. She had such an attitude. I do not recommend this place anymore. The serivce is the worst I have ever seen. Thumbs down all the way.

Good Beers, decent food, subpar staff!

It is by far the worst service I've ever received!! I used to go there a lot, because I live and work around the neighborhood. However, I decided that even though they have a great beer selection and decent food, their service is so unfriendly and hostile (especially towards larger groups) that I prefer to spend my money elsewhere!! If you decide to go, I hope that you have a much pleasant experience than I. That being said, the bartender is as friendly as it can get!

    Poor experience

Seems like Columbia students much prefer the illusion of a cool hang out, than a decent breakfast, and thanks to them the owners of this place are getting away with a lot. I had a well below average brunch here. My eggs arrived luke-warm, with greasy home fries and bad coffee. It was very noisy, the staff were pointedly uninterested in providing professional service. There was something idiotic about watching all the Ivy leagers stuffing themselves full of overpriced, bad food.
