Disillusioned
went there w/my girlfriends after work and spa treatment ....made it girls nite out. Was disappointed with the food there as it once was very good years ago, when I use to frequent the place. The appetizer and my soup was extremely salty. the guacomole was excellent and fresh.....the drinks were overly priced and very small which was ridiculous....if you're gonna price them high keep the glasses as large as well. My girlfriend ordered the paella, the seafood was cooked very well but the rice was bland. the location, service and ambiance is very nice but very disappointed with the Chef they currently have. I was totally disappointed with my meal and seemed the other girls were not to impressed as well as they left most of it on their plates.

Fish is terrible
Pros: fresh guacamole (but small-ish portion and expensive - and I'm comparing it to expensive places like Dos Caminos), shrimp appetizers, great location by the window for people watching. Cons: the fish entrees were downright terrible. We returned the bass and the manager was nice enough to take it off the bill, but we didn't eat more than a few bites of the snapper either, which was just as bad. Don't ever get the fish there - it tastes very, very stale.

All looks, no payoff
I went here last night for Cinco de Mayo. Granted, they may not be well equipped for the influx of customers, but their service & food was disappointingl. The waiter took a year & a day to bring our drinks, the guac was tiny, the drinks were overpriced & small, the manager as unapologetic, the salsa tasted like tomato sauce.... i actually could go on but you get the idea. Too bad b/c it's a beautiful garden.

Subpar
The menu is overpriced for Mexican food, the service was inconsistent, and the paella was bland. The atmosphere could have been lovely if not for the boisterous crowd. I couldn't even hear the person sitting directly across from me.

Fiesta Place
We celebrate new year's eve at Tio Pepe with my friends and was fun, specially the lovely garden.

Food was Great but seating wasn't
Highly recommended by my mom that NEVER likes to go out to eat. The food was great but honestly just be careful where you are seated. We were seated in the front by the window which we thought was very nice until another couple sat right next to us, might has well put both tables together. Our Server couldn't even get to us so we ended up waiting forever for our drinks, side dishes, forget about dessert we just wanted out of there...Don't think they'll be a next time for us which is so sad because the food was great! oh well that's what happens when you want to seat 50 people in a area for 25.

Bad Experience
Me and 2 of my friends just had lunch there today and it was very unsatisfactory. I have been living in Manhattan for over 7 years and never was so unsatisfied. The waiter had to ask us what we ordered 3 times...and he still got it wrong. (he should have wrote it down) He brought out the wrong salad for me..brought out a chicken dish that none of us ordered and he completely forgot to bring my other friend's food. My friend ate the chicken anyway because we were so hungry and tired of waiting. then after the 2 of us were done eatting he brought out the 3rd persons food. She couldnt even chew the meat...so it wasn't even worth the wait. Do Not Eat Here! Trust me! I am saving you much aggravation. We are now ordering lunch into the office because we are all still hungry and annoyed.
