Recently moved in this area
A new neighbor suggested Timmy's the day I recently moved here (6 months ago) already, and was kind enough to give me her menu and told me to order the spinach pie which she loves, well I did and I love it as well, plus everything else I order.I have been a very satisfied customer ever since. a great place to go or order in...many thanks....

Not good
The best thing about eating here is -- Don't. Bad food, overpriced, lousy service and a bad attitude. Great for parents who allow their spoiled brats to run around screaming.

Very Good for What it is
Timmy's isn't gonna be a 5 star destination, but for 91st and York, it works very well. Even dishes like the fish and pasta are done beyond what one would expect from a diner (which is more or less what it is).

good place to stretch your buck
I tried this place for the first time and I really liked the food and the service. This place has a lot of choices to choose from just like any other diner but this is a unique diner. I like that they offer bread while you are waiting to order. Most places do not offer that. It really is a hidden gem to go for some wholesome food. If they offered a view of the river while you ate, this place would be perfect. Also I did enjoy the music selection BUT couldn't really enjoy it because of the noise from children and senior citizens. Next time, I must ask to be seated in the back. Maybe then I will be able to enjoy it to the fullest.

one of the best
I order regularly and Timmy's is one of the best diners around. Great value on food and quick service. The salads are fabulous and so is the spinach pie. Glad they are in the hood.

Hidden Fee, Pathetic Pastrami. Im so mad.
So the "Pastrami Sandwich" is considered a staple. Don't order it here. The pastrami stinks. The "sandwich" is on weak rye. It is about 1" thick, with maybe two folds of meat. DONT YOU KNOW WHAT A PASTRAMI SANDWICH IS? Did I mention that what little pastrami was actually on the sandwich tasted like uncooked bacon. Without spices. Also - it says "served with potato salad or french fries". I specified I wanted french fries . THEY CHARGED ME FOR EXTRA FRIES. This place does not deserve your business. Terrible. If you order from here, you're going to be disappointed and likely broke. It's a ripoff. And bad. Did I mention the pastrami? It is terrible. I am so angry right now. I want my money back and my time back eating this pathetic terrible sandwich. Timmys by the river needs to get dumped in the river for good and never to be found again even by the craftiest of deep sea explorers. To recap, I would highly suggest not ordering from this restaurant, ever, for any type of food.

Rude and Overpriced
Went here for a late lunch with a friend after seeing the great reviews on this site. I ordered the Dorset Blue Salad. I also asked for grilled shrimp on my salad. When I received the salad, I was a disappointed to have gotten sunflower seeds instead of pumpkin seeds and broiled shrimp instead of grilled. I figured it wasn't a huge deal (I don't like to make a scene in restaurants and am pretty easy going) and ate the meal. Well, when the bill came, the salad was $13.95 (which was what was listed on the menu) but then they also added an additional $8.85 for the 3 broiled shrimp. I asked about the pricing on the shrimp (more expensive than meals on their menu!) and the hostess adjusted the price. Then the owner came out and said the original price ($8.85) was correct and proceeded to come back with a menu to show us the price of the shrimp entrees and he made a huge scene. I had only told him it just seemed like it was overpriced and continued to make a scene with the old bill. I'm disappointed by how rude he was and the embarrassing scene he made. We had paid based on the old bill (and what became a $23 salad). The hostess was sweet, looked embarrassed and apologized but I will not be going back here, ever again! It's not so much the price but more-so the rudeness and embarrassing scene the old man made!
