Quick, Cheap, Tasty
a bit of a rush for a small place during lunch but worth while. Do what i do and sample everything with the first plate and then go back for what you like. Everything's fresh and hot, one chuntny was way too salty but everything else was great. For $6.50 you have nothing to complain about.

Excellent food and great value
Lunch buffet for $6.50 is amazing value. 3 curries plus rice and india breads, salad and sauces - all very delicious. Busy place (rightfully so) with efficient and friendly staff.

Amazing South Indian Food...
...from two South Indians! This place has the most authentic food we've ever tasted outside of South India. While most other Indian restaurants grease or butter up their food immensely, it's great to finally see a place that delivers the real thing. We haven't tried their North Indian fare. But if you go there, reward yourself with a hot South Indian Dosa, Uttapam, Idli, or if you're feeling adventurous, a real South Indian Thali. Their sambar (the mark of a true restaurant) is to die for!

New Fav in Curry Hill!
Just had lunch buffet and for six bucks you can't beat it! We eat in curry hill a lot, and some of the restaurants have let themselves slip- meaning they are not as good as they once were. Tiffin Wallah's food is fresh, delicious, and flavorful without being greasy! Great south indian food!

Superior indian in Curry Hill
What a welcome surprise! Read about this restaurant in NY mag, here and other various places, decided to give it a try. Certainly heads above the usual Indian fare in the neighborhood -- or anywhere else in Manhattan. The food is wonderful. The flavors and seasoning are perfect, vegetables are so fresh (unlike other area vegetarians), the service is friendly and accomodating. The dosas are perfect, curries are savory and perfectly spices. Even the mango lassi for dessert was better than the usual. The atmosphere is more modern and cleaner than the dark dreary rooms in most similarly-priced Indian restaurants in town. Will be returning very soon.

no disappointments
i was supposed to go here with a date but he flaked at the last minute. instead, i ended up going a day later and enjoyed myself more without a disappointing date in tow. the paper dosa is literally paper thin, crunchy and chewy, and overall delicious with the accompaniments. i also liked the bhel puri very much--the different textures of puffed rice, chickpeas, tomatoes, onions, and other ingredients made each bite tasty and tangy. i would bring a date here, but only if he was worth it. too bad there aren't many qualifiers.

Great, Affordable South Indian Cuisine
After reading the other reviews on Menupages, I decided to give this place a try. I was not disappointed. The food is great (Palak Paneer, my personal favorite, was quite well made, and the wide variety of Dosas is impressive. The Pondicherry Dosa is quite good), the service is good, the prices are fantastic, and the restaurant was packed, yet I did not have to wait for a table. Overall, it is an excellent place for Southern Indian Cuisine, and I recommend taking a date there for a good, inexpensive time.
