    So yummy!

The rusmalia dessert is SO delicious! Never had it before and I've gone back twice since! My partner and I split two thalhi dinners, and we had a lively evening. The staff are great! The food is really fresh and savory! GO EAT at Tiffin Walah!

    Go Elsewhere

We've had very authentic and good indian food growing up in south east asia. This place is lousy for food and inattentive (service) at best!

    Great South Indian food!

This place opened me up to south indian food and now I'm always going back for more. It's much more lighter and tastier than other south indian places I've tried. I've noticed they changed some waiters but all except one are very nice and attentive. I've been there so many times over the last 2 years, and not once have I been disappointed by their food. It's awesome!

What wonderful food! So Fresh and Delicious too.

Wow, I'm really surprised at the negative reviews here. This was my 2nd visit today and I am definitely going back. Granted, it's a bit of a limited menu being vegetarian but it was absolutely delicious and so fresh! I eat at a lot of Indian places around town and this Indian food clearly stands out from the others. The cauliflower/mustard seed dish is fantastic. The service was friendly and attentive constantly. It's a noisy place but that's because everyone knows it's good. Geez. You negative guys are something. $7.50 for lunch? Come on.

    Delivery gripes and other thoughts.

For some reason this place only takes credit card when ordering delivery. That's extremely annoying - it seems to be the only Indian joint in Curry Hill that does, why exactly I'm not sure. The food here for delivery has been hit-or-miss - terrific the first 2 times I ordered, and downhill the next couple. The couple of times I've eaten here I've noticed a younger, whiter, hipper demographic then the other vegetarian/kosher places on Lex and perhaps the owners think that makes them special. Tiffin - you're good, but not that special. Don't let it go to your head.

    Boring Food with Peculiar Service

Large portions of attractively presented food in a blah decor. The food was consistently starchy and bland with little variation in flavors from dish to dish. But it was cheap. The service, however, was quite disconcerting: Simple requests, such as one for utensils, were not met; waiters wandered around without purpose, then suddenly spurted into very busy and officious action, then wandered again; and strangely, the bill was presented halfway through the meal, although we had not asked for it and the restaurant was only moderately full. The waiter actually asked us to pay the bill several times and hovered near our table until we did. We will not return.

    great food, embarassingly bad service

Ate here recently w/ a friend and was very impressed by the depth and variety of flavors, for a very decent price. We ate quickly, in spite of having ordered a lot, and were in the middle of a clearly intense conversation over tea (this lasted all of THREE minutes after they cleared our plates) when they interrupted my friend mid-sentence and asked us to leave because others were waiting. With tea still in our glasses. Clearly it was busy, and we weren't planning to stay forever, but still, that's just rude. It was a really unfortunate end to an otherwise tasty meal, but when people are that rude, you don't want to return...
