Delicious
I ate breakfast at Tick Tock yesterday while waiting to go to a show. I ordered the Belgium waffle and bacon. It was one of the best I've ever tasted. When the waitress brought my food, the bacon was burned. I mentioned this to her and she promptly returned my plate to the kitchen. The next order was fine. After the show my friend and I had some time to kill while waiting for our bus, so we went back. We weren't too hungry, and just ordered onion rings. They were finger lickin good. I know where I'll be dining on my next trip to New York. Hope its soon!

Breakfast is really good...
The waitress who served me needs a major attitude adjustment. The pancakes were alright, decent, and so so--not the best. Cool atmosphere.

Disappointing nachos
I'm really not sure how a diner can mess up nachos- it's kind of the thing they're supposed to be known for, like bottomless coffee cups and a black and white shake. But these guys would be undisputed World Champions if there was a competition. A big bowl of chips, with salsa and jalepenos on top, topped with a blanket of congealed cheese that had clearly been melted once, perhaps when they opened. The cheese is not distributed throughout the chips. It's been melted directly on top of the cold salsa. What's that you say? They forgot the guacamole and sour cream? Thats true! When I pointed that, rather then go off to bring me 2 sides bowls, the waiter whisked my nachos away. That should have tipped me off, but I had favorable thoughts like, "Oh, he saw what a horrible job those kitchen folks did with this batch and he's full of righteous anger- he's going to go back there and have them done right." Wrong. The nachos were returned to me, with guacamole and sour cream. Under another (slightly less) congealed, formerly melted cheese cover. Whats more, there was a second layer of cheddar in the middle of the chips (yay!) that was not only unmelted but was still fridge cold (boo!). The architect and contractor of these chips should lose their license.

Well, the Location is Convenient
Went here for breakfast after getting off the train at Penn Station, was on my way to Lincoln Center. I was seated and served promptly. Got no more attention from the waiter than was absolutely necessary, but the place was busy, so that's OK. I ate and waited to pay. And waited, and waited. Got the bill, put a 20 on the table because I didn't have change, and waited for the waiter to pick it up. And waited and waited. He finally comes around and takes it, so now I'm waiting for change. And waiting and waiting. Good thing I has some time to spare, because this place sucked up most of it. Welcome to New York!

Dry burgers and waffles falling apart
I used to love this place. great breakfast food and good burgers. but the past 2 times Ive been here it has been sub-par to say the least. on my recent trip i ordered a burger medium well that came out obviously well-done with no lettuce, tomato or mayo i thought that was standard. anyway i can live with out that. but the burger was really dry and unappetizing. I tried my cousin burger it was also really dry. the icing on the cake was my 10 year old sisters Belgium waffle that split open in half when she put her fork through it and picked it up and my other cousins dark brown waffle. do yourself a favor a go some place. they have seriously fallen down hill.

Terrible Service
I recently went to the Tick Tock for the first time after walking by many times in the past. I was with a group of friends and we decided to give it a try. When ordering I asked for a "plain burger well". The server asked me how I wanted it cooked and I repeated "Well". He said that they didn't have a term for that. They only did medium well and well-done. So I said I wanted it well-done. He then asked what I wanted on my burger and I repeated "plain". He said he didn't know what plain was. I told him it was a burger with nothing on it but bread. Forty or so minutes later he comes back with a plate that only had a burger on it. No fries even though my meal came with fries. When I inquired about my friends he literally shoved the plate in my face and said "You said plain!" Then he walked away in a huff without an apology or offering to bring me my desired fries. Once we were done eating we tried to flag him down several times to ask for our check but he avoided us like the plague. When he finally came over with the check he apologized about my fries and handed me the check. When I looked it I saw that he had boldly circled the line where you write in your tip. I was definitely put off by this. TIPS stands for To Insure Prompt Service. We didn't receive "Prompt Service" and his tip reflected that. I won't be going back to Tick Tock.
