Cheap + unambiguously delicious
I never would have expected such incredible salsa from a 24-hour diner, but WOW! The chips + salsa appetizer truly cannot be beat. The black bean burritos are amazing, too - really surprising to find such quality, fresh Mexican at a 24-hour diner. They make their own veggie burger patties, and they're very vegetable-y and tasty. Fries are bountiful and crisp. Omelettes are yummy and fresh. They have some restrictive rules (e.g. $5 minimum per person, no substitutions), but considering the very low prices for such quality, fresh food, I suppose that's to be expected. I've always had very good service. Would love to see mozarella sticks on their menu, I bet they would be great.

Tick Tock - Just Great! We'll be back..
I discovered the Tick Tock diner a couple of years' back whilst staying at the New Yorker hotel and was impressed with the quality food and good atmosphere. I visited Manhattan again this year with my family, and although we were staying at another hotel, we made the short trip across town to have breakfast every morning in the Tick Tock. I have always found the service very friendly and efficient, even at busy times, and am surprised at the comments about rude, arrogant staff. On the downside, I have found certain items on the menu to be rather pricey - check out the price of the tomato juice! All in all, a great place to eat, especially breakfast. Long live the Tick Tock diner!

Fair food, poor service
Service can be good, but usually not. Food is so-so.

Love The Tic Tock
My wife and I were in New York for the Cream reunion concert at Madison Square Garden. We both had dinner at the Tic Tock the night of the shoe and found it to be excellent. Food was hot, service was fast and pleasant. We came back the next morning for breakfast and found the same . Great portions, very reasonable prices and a very cool retro atmosphere. We are from Massachusetts and when we get back to the city again, we will be back at the Tick Tock.

Great Place--Great Value for Manhattan
My mom and I ate here on our recent stay in Manhattan and were very pleased with service, food, ambience and teh whole bit! It is in a busy location but the food was really good (I had a steak sandwich, mom had a monte cristo) and our waiter could not have been nicer or quicker with the food. I thought relative to other Manhattan eateries, this was a good spot.

Not Recommended
I ate here back a few months ago with my father and the service very poor. First, after my father and I ordered our meals, we waited for about 15 minutes for our meals. My father ordered soup and the waiter brings the main course first then the soup. It's either let the soup go cold or let the main course get cold. Finally, we were waiting for a long time for our check.

Good Food
Service is not all that bad but needs improvement. I think we once had to leave without leaving a tip. But in the long run I find the food really decent the atmosphere comfortable and the prices avarage but portions really good.
