Great lunch place
Excellent paninis and salads. Cute little cafe, with emphasis on "little." Can get crowded during peak lunch hours and the service speed can suffer because of it, but the girls behind the counter are sweet and work hard. Come in often enough and they will remember your name and kindly greet you by name whenever you walk in. Highly recommended for a lunch bite. Great coffee/iced coffee too.

Nice ambiance meets simple taste
Great sandwhiches and coffee, but also a good amount of variety. And.... no glass cases of pre-made meals- They make it all when you come! The smoothies and juices taste pretty fresh as well.

A Perfect Bite in a Quaint Soho Cafe
I was surprised by some of these harsh reviews... honestly, Thompson Cafe is the perfect match if what you're looking for is a simple, delicious lunch spot either for take-out or dine-in! A relaxing atmosphere with great coffee they also squeeze their own juices, and make REAL fruit smoothies. The girls behind the counter are delightful and accommodating. And don't forget to try their delicious chocolate chip cookies- they're $1 each, but best I've had in the area. Definitely give this place an A!

Cute Atmosphere, that's it!
This place is a really cute place in a great location, but the food is average at best and over priced and the service is really just not good. The girls at the counter can't remember if you paid them or not when it gets busy, so you end up fighting with them. And the food is small portions for what you get, and they've messed up my orders on more than several occassions. $7.95 for a Nicoise salad and they forget the tuna and egg?! C'mon! Not worth the hassle or expense.

okay food- subpar service
If you would like to feel appreciated or rather just not annoyed: don't eat here! Ordering via phone is torturous- ordering in person is not much better. I've tried to order four separate times via phone and after my last attempt have decided that there are plenty of other cafes that I can get an inexpensive sandwich at for half the frustration-For food that is just okay, they really should step up their customer service!

You get less for your money
I just ordered delivery from this place and was immiediatley disappointed. For $30+ I got 2 decent paninis, 2 watered down smoothies, and a cinnamon sticky bun the size of my thumb. I called to make sure that they had sent the right dessert, as my friend and I were planning on sharing it. Yup. For $2+ we got a bit-sized dot of burnt dough. I'm never ordering from this place again. It also doesn't help that the girl answering the phone can't take down a name to save her life.

hanging on the telephone
If you are a busy Soho professional, order at your own risk. I was told it would take 45minutes to receive delivery, but I never even got to place my order since I was asked to "wait a minute', the phone was put down and never picked back up. Fortunately I have speakerphone and ordered from another restaurant on my cellphone on my other ear while still waiting, listening to them use the blender, chop vegetables, and help other customers in the background for a good 15 minutes before giving up. Good luck!
