    Great SoHo Find

My girlfriend dragged me into this store while we were wandering around Soho. I've never been a huge fan of yogurt and had not tried greek yogurt. My girlfriend bought a cup of yogurt with toppings and offered me a taste. It was fantastic. I am hooked on greek yogurt. its thicker and has more flavor than anything I've had from the supermarket. I tried some of the Fage yogurt from the supermarket but it doesn't measure up to the stuff the yogurt place sells. I stop in weekly. They've got some kind of topping with figs and apricots that's out of this world.

    This rocks

The Greek yougurt here is the best. During the spring I like to get a cup of yogurt here and just walk around SoHo. Beautiful location, and beautiful atmosphere

    Distance Enjoyer of Amazing Yogurt

I tasted this yogurt at an event last week. It was amazing but I was a little intimidated by how thick it was at first. I had no idea what Greek yogurt was before. Still its purity and creaminess were so enjoyable and satisfying. I had the yogurt with Ambrosial granola - also by a Greek woman - they teamed up to donate their yummy food to the event. And am I ever thankful! You've got to try it for yourself!

    The best greek yoghurt ever

I am sorry to disagree with one of the reviews here, but I am a Greek who lives in Soho and this is simply the best yoghurt I have ever tasted, period. (By the way, there is no such thing as "mediterranean yoghurt"!) Strained Greek yoghurt is very different from what Americans are used to (yoghurt full of stabilizers and chemicals), and Greek yoghurt is known to be the best in the world, but this yoghurt is better even than the yoghurt you can find in Greece. The owner is a wonderful Greek lady from Istanbul (Greek cuisine from that city is the most sophisticated Greek cooking there is) and everything I have tried at the Yoghurt Place is delicious. But save room for the yoghurt - if you have never tried it, you are really missing something. There is also low-fat strained yoghurt, but try the full-fat with traditional Greek toppings -- truly superb!

This is a more accurate review

First of all, this place doesn't have Greek yoghurt- it has Mediterranean yogurt, which is not the same thing. The quality of the food and yogurt is fine, but I wouldn't go out of your way for it. If you want to try Greek yoghurt, you can find it at Whole Foods more easily. I give the food a 4 because it tastes good. But, this is my highest rating for the place. I was let down by the service, value, and atmosphere, as I describe below: The service was intimidating. The shop isn't that large on the inside and I was stared at by the (friendly) woman behind the counter. She greeted me 'good morning' but I was still distracted looking around for a menu to order off of. (While this was not my first time having "Greek Yoghurt", it was my first time visiting the Yoghurt Place.) Anyway, without a menu to order off of, I let the woman summarize the contents of the shop for me. But, as her hands gestured from a cold-case to untouched pastry racks, I lost my initial hopes of seeing a product made fresh. I felt like my journey for legendary yoghurt was unrewarded.

    Best REAL Yoghurt in Manhattan

If you love homemade greek yoghurt it doesn't get much better than this! Fresh fruit compotes or honey and crushed walnuts adorn sinfully delicious plain yoghurt. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and always eager to answer questions or make suggestions.
