Great for lunch or happy hour!
I have been to The Volstead twice: the first time for after-work drinks and the second for lunch. The drinks were a little pricy and the place was very trendy, and it was fun. Then a few months later I came for lunch and was blown away. It was a cold day, and my boyfriend and I each got different hot sandwiches. They were perfect! BIG, comforting, but healthful - not fatty or salty, just fresh ingredients. I got the roast turkey melt and my bf had the blackened salmon sandwich. We both normally love to share, but didn't this time bc we each loved our own so much!

Highly recommend
I've been to The Volstead 12 or more times since end of June. The food is consistently good and healthful. It is never too greasy or too salty. The atmosphere is calming, upscale and we love that the tables or sparsely placed. (Very unlike most NY restaurants.) It used to be club before it was converted to a restaurant. The manager and the wait staff all are very attentive.

A+ experience
Wow!! What a perfect dinner. To begin, all of the staff was incredibly nice. Our waitress was so helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was very swanky and fun. Great for after work drinks and an early dinner. My boyfriend and I order "small plates" in lieu of entrees, thinking it would be fun to share. We ordered the short rib nachos, mac n cheese pops, crab cakes, and shrimp dumplings. EVERYTHING was out of this world delicious. The nachos were huge. Plus, there really was an enormous amount of meat on the nachos. and each "small plate" came with 8-10 bites. which is HUGE for a tapas style meal. We definitely over-ordered. Our favorite is the crab cakes. Each bite came in a small dumpling size bite on a "lollipop" stick. I would highly recommend this restaurant. the prices were incredibly reasonable. plus the happy hour drinks are so yummy!

Nice East Side Spot
Very nice east side spot. I throughly enjoyed the atomosphere and the music. The food was great and the signature drinks were delightful, although I wish they varied in taste a little because almost all the drinks were sweet. They also need more staff because it was hard to get a hold of our server and to find another one in place of her. All in all, it's a very nice place for happy hour, after work party or casual date (not a first date though, because it can get a little loud - so you have to shout to hear each other). I give this place 5 stars!

Fondue is amazing!
I took my wife here for her birthday lunch and we loved it. We were treated great by an extremely friendly staff. The food was favorable, and the best part was dessert. We couldn't finish our amazing fondue, so next time we'll save room. The only negative was my two seven dollar beers. Excellent!!!

poor beer selection
Great space but.... Nothing on tap and Bud Light, Heineken, Stella, Amstel Light, and Sam Adams seasonal in bottles. That's it. This is as bad as an open bar at a cheap fundraiser.

My new fav
I went here for a very late lunch (no one was left) and while most restaurants would have turned us away, they greeted us w open arms. When I called prior to ask of they were open, the lady who picked up was so pleasant. The staff here is A+. The food was excellent! I plan to bring back a group of my friends. I can't wait to see it after work.
