    Get the calamari

Great place to watch soccer if they put the sound on. The calamari with the hot peppers, etc. is perhaps the best in the city! Servers are often distracted in some parallel universe (their cell phones).

Happy to see this place come to my neighborhood

I recently moved to UWS and was delighted to know Village Pourhouse moved here as well. I used to frequent the East Village location. The food was as expected- cooked to the right temperature. I loved the half moon mozzarella. My friend ordered he calamari which was changed on the menu from oriental to traditional (i liked the oriental version they had downtown better vs the marinara sauce style) and the salad (Cobb)was too big for us to finish so the value was there but they can give smaller portions. Sevice was standard- we signed up for a raffle and a week later won an open bar for our friends - sort of worked like a bribe for this review :) but happy to give it a positive one and let everyone know to check it out and make it your local neighborhood hangout spot

    good beer, service, and food

My friend and I had coupons for discounted beer flights from here, so after work yesterday we decided to head over. Our waitress was new to the restaurant (she informed us of this) but very helpful and competent despite being new. The beer was great, and the food was good also. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which came on a chibatta roll with a large portion of fries on the side. The chicken was plentiful, and I devoured the sandwich. My friend had a Burger which was hearty in size as well, and enjoyed it very much. Overall, a good experience.
