    Great place to go

When our professional organization held a couple of our informal dinner evenings here, the food and service could not have been better. We had a set menu which the manager had worked out with me beforehand and which they even printed up for each of us. The food is good and excellent value. The regular menu is interesting with plenty on offer. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a comfortable ambiance.

    Rude service

I had breakfast here with my boyfriend about a week ago after going for a bike ride. We sat outside and were only 2 of 8 people at the restaurant. The waitress who sat us started off to be nice but as she took are order she became progressively rude. I had to ask 3x for a refill on my iced coffee, which took about 20 minutes to get to begin with. It was amazing that the waitress was just lollygagging by the bar area in stead of doing her job. The food arrived and was subpar. Cold eggs, skimy fruit bowl with what I call filler fruit (melon). When it came time to get the check the waitress told us it would be awhile in rude manner then proceeded to throw the check on the table and walk away! Definitely not a place I recommend or will ever go back. I did phone and speak to the manager who was very apologetic and asked if their was anything he could do but I said no and appreciated his attempt to rectify.

Good Chicken; Mediocre Tuna; Cute Guys

My partner & I stopped in after a show at the Joyce. The drinks were fine (gimlet & wine). The free range chicken was quite good. However, the seared tuna was more "Chicken of the Sea" than "Sashimi Quality". Wait staff is attentive, fun, & friendly.

    Love the late night menu

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this place on the way home from a late night out shortly after I moved into the neighborhood. We loooved their late night menu which really hits the spot and doesn't break the bank! A much better alternative than the lousy pizza options in this area! We've since been during normal dinner hours as well and the food is just as good, and selection is wonderful. We've been pleased with just about everything on the menu - but their sirloin burger in particular is spectacular (a big juicy burger served with a very tasty bun - and best with goat cheese on top!). The Viceroy is a hidden gem in an area with few quality options.

By Chelsea standards, now a classic

Despite ourselves, we go back again and again. The food is enormously improved from years past. The staff which continues employment there (esp. the English woman with glasses) is nice and charming and friendly (there is a continual stream of boy waiters just off the bus from Des Moines). The frozen cosmos can't be beat. The bar itself is gorgeous. We miss the scaffolding which has been on the outside of the building, well, as long as we can remember. All in all, you can do a lot worse in Chelsea.

    Great Brunch

This is a great brunch place, their omelets are perfectly cooked and served with great homefries, as well as a basket of yummy bread, and of course your choice of beverage. One of my fave brunch places in the city.
