Another one bites the Tablecloth...
Went with my brother in September ...service was indifferent from waiter, food was bland, not hot, not even warm, shame...it used to be a nice place. My fish and chips...was a mess, my brothers meal, was left untouched after one bite. We skipped coffee and desserts. Chelsea is losing more dining spots, and the pizzeria's, and take-out Chinese spots are winning the race for customers and cash!

Will not return
The restaurant was comfortable, pleasant and the service was good. The food was absolutely forgettable. My wife had Penne w/tomato basil sauce with ricotta cheese and shrimp. The shrimp were over cooked and the sauce was not very good. I had stuffed chicken breast. The chicken was dry and not very palatable. The highlight of the dish was the mashed potatoes and they were average. We went into the place about 9:pm and if we weren't so hungry we would have left the meals uneaten.

Great place but bad food
While the service was very frienfly and the atmosphere top notch (great bar btw), the entrees were the closest thing to revolting I have experienced in a while. My pork chops tasted like bad processed meat, poorly cooked, and covered in a heavy sauce that seemes like a mere cover up bad quality. My friend's chicken also tasted like plastic and was very dry. Perhaps this was a one-off bad experience but for a $20 entree one should usually expect a certain level of quality.

Good Experience
I had Sunday Brunch yesterday and everything was great. It was crowded and we expected a wait since we were a party of 5 but we were cheerfully greeted and seated in a minute. We all had the price fix menu which included muffins and drinks. We had omlettes, salmon & lasagne primavera, all of which were very good and the prtions were huge for NYC, (I enjoyed the rest of my lasagne for dinner!). The waiter cheerfully helped with the wine selection and was attentive throughout. Very good all around!

What Happened?
I know it was Halloween. I know it was somewhat busy BUT.... First, the staff rushed all the tables even when there was not a line. My dinner partner and I now qualify for Dionne Warwick's psychic hotline since we knew that the waiter would get the order wrong--and he did. The staff took away my glass without asking if I was finished and would I like another drink. The maitre d should be on ritalin since he was sooo hyperactive. The staff was asking if they could take my plate away when it was at least half full of food (4 times) and AGAIN no line--no wait! I have been here before (several times) this was the most disappointing experience. Okay...maybe it was a bad night... maybe. Will I go here again? Everybody deserves another chance even if I am reluctant to give it.

Delivery disappointment
We ordered the "Shepard's pie" and a hamburger and neither were worth finishing. The Shepard's by was by no means a pie, it was soupy and more like a curry stew. The cheeseburger tasted like salt. The french fries were good, and the side of green beans were nice too. But if you want simple takeout I would avoid this place.
