delicious
I'm a new fan of this restaurant and I cannot believe how amazing their tomato soup is. I had two dishes of their tomato soup and was still not satisfied. I love food! what can I say. I went ahead and ordered their crispy chicken sandwich and fell absolutely in love with that too. My oh my did I have butterflies in my stomach. Food quality is excellent and the wait staff is decent. Very friendly and courteous. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual. My friends felt comfortable. The service is good and overall the restaurant is Great! Highly recommended it.

some kinks but a welcome addition to the neighborhood
My "foodie" husband and I just ate dinner at The Three Hens. A welcome change from the many, many Indian joints in our neighborhood, this restaurant still has some service issues to iron out. The manager had to step in and take care of us, buying us our drinks since we waited far too long for menus, but both the drinks and the food were really worth the wait. Contrary to the other posts, I found the portions to be on the large side - perhaps this is a difference between brunch and dinner. I hope this place will stick around. Try the chicken pot pie or the fried chicken - both are delicious. The five minute egg is also great - kind of like the Scotch Egg at the Breslin, but on a bed of frisee with lardons. We'll definitely be back.

What a let down
I was very disappointed with The Three Hens. I had high expectations, and left extremely unsatisfied. The portions are beyond small - Y, and the food is well below par.

Decent lunch, small portions
I agree with the previous reviewer about the small portion sizes. I appreciate 'just right' servings as most serving sizes are way overboard and should be reduced. But the portions at The Three Hens are just really too small, especially for the price. Or maybe the plates are too damn big. Ether way, not a great value. But the food quality is very good, nice atmosphere, and a nice addition to the neighborhood.

Small portions & slightly overpriced
On a brunch day, you would hope to leave the table with a smile on your face and a somewhat sated feeling. The presentation was excellent, but the portions are very small. And what's with $3.50 for a cup of coffee and then they charge you for a refill as the exact same price. Come on. I welcomed a new restaurant in the neighborhood, but they need to rethink portion size & prices.
