Too loud in everything but the food
If you are an Aussie living out here in NYC and suffer homesickness on a regular basis, this place might, repeat might, have a small fix for you. Well, the dishes in the menu are named in a somewhat Aussie-inspired kind of way, but that is where it ends: in the name. The Sunburnt Cow is dark even in broad daylight, loud with mostly bad taste rock, messy with waiters who systematically get their orders and tables mixed up but don't apologise, prices that do not match the menu, tiny tables that can barely seat one person made to fit two, and sometimes three people, most food items were not available for brunch at 13:30 on a Sunday, bathrooms out of papers, with no signs or light switches. Surely they think that if they serve you their non-stop drinks (till what's-his-name says you had enough then you won't notice). Too bad: this customer had drinks but did not fail to notice the set-up.

Better than I expected
I went here with my Aussie bfriend, expecting that it not be too good or too authentic. Well, he loved the food and so did I. We had the burger, bangers & mash, fisherman's basket, pav & lamingtons. All were great. The staff were accomodating, even asking us to stay for the free beer and popcorn while they showed an Aussie movie (Wednesdays 9:30). The atmosphere was very welcoming. And the prices not too bad. I'm definitely going back.

Totally awesome mates!
Wonderful brunch and strong bloodies served by cute and nice Aussies and Kiwis. The eggs benedict (Bush) was excellent as was the special -- an omelettel w/ shiitakes, cheddar and bacon. Amazing, non-greasy, yet super crispy fries and some nice mixed greens come w/ the entree too. Bloody Marys were a little spicy w/ lots of horse radish. All four of us give this place two thumbs up! HIghly recommended.

Open air dining and great specials
My husband and I tried the Sunburnt Cow last night - based on the reviews on this website... and EVERYTHING was as wonderful as we'd hoped. Friendly service, fun atmosphere (open roof in the dining room), wonderful food, and excellent drinks. What's more, tuesday nights, all of the entrees are $7, and drinks are $6... and on mondays, everthing is $5! We'll definately be back - and soon - with friends!

Can't Wait to Come Back!
What a great evening. We were greeted warmly as soon as we came in. The staff was so attentive and offered great suggestions when we had a hard time deciding what to order from the appetizing menu! The Moo jitos were out of this world! The date pudding was such a great dessert to end the meal with. As we left we were also wished a good evening. I can't wait to come back again. We're keen on coming for brunch!

Friendliest place ever!
The owner and staff welcomed us immediately after walking in. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and very concerned with making sure we were comfortable. The night crowd was fun and energetic but not too crazy. The best service from the friendliest staff! I was very impressed and made sure to remember the name of this place to recommend it to eveyone! The drinks were great. I didn't get to have dinner but the menu looked interesting and delicious too.
