I just want to say I waited 3 years to make it to The Sunburnt Cow and all I can say is ... IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! Service was outstanding. How can you go wrong when your waitress is a gorgeous blonde with an Australian accent. When I mentioned I was there for my birthday, she wasn't gone but 2 minutes before she was back from the bar with a round of shots for the 4 of us! And the food? Oh my God. Luckily no one sitting near us could hear the group of adults moaning over every bite. Not only was what we each ordered delicious, but after stealing bites of each others meals we agreed it was all superb. Couldn't decide which dessert we wanted... So we ordered 1of each! And as heartless as you think you might feel eating kangaroo sausage? After the first bite, that guilt flies right out the window! Oh yes...You must try at least 1 if not 2 or 3 of their inventive and delicious cocktails. To The Sunburnt Cow...It took me 3 years to make it all the way to the Lower East Side to find you.... And you didn't disappoint. Thank you.

I never left a review after my Birthday party back in October. I had been here a few times and the food was amazing and the bloody marys awesome. I knew I had to have a brunch party. They closed the restaurant for my forty friends and me and extended brunch an extra hour. The service was amazing. Refills for our mimosas and bloody marys before we even asked for them. Shots on the house, and they even put candles on my birthday cake my friends bought me! They really treat you like family here, but service is better for larger parties than smaller ones! My favorite brunch place by far.

I had my birthday brunch here that accomodated 15. The waiter was so nice to us. He kept refilling our unlimited drinks, and provided my party with free shots on the house. The food is so good! You will love this place. We all had such a great time. Make a reservation!

Went here with a bunch of buddies. The waitress could not have been better. She donated towards a fund raiser one of the guys was working on for the NYC fire dept. As far as food goes, had the calamari to start and the boar ribs. Calamari was excellent, very different from what you have had elsewhere. The boar ribs were incredibly tender. Total for six of us with apps, drinks, and meals was about $100, and that included us tipping generously.

I read all the reviews and was really excited about this place. Our friend was leaving to new zealand, so it was a special night for her. I made reservations for 10 people at 6.30pm. 6 of us showed up at 6.30. The waitress didn't seat us because we have to wait until everybody is in....nobody was in the restaurant, there was no reason to act like this. She told us that this is the policy of the house. After 15 min at the bar, only two people were missing, but they were in the area searching for parking. The very nice and friendly waitress told us, that it can take hours to get a parking spot and she will not seat us. After we told her that we will leave, she finally seated us. The restaurant by itself is nice, but if an evening starts like this....nothing can go anymore. we should have left.

This place is awesome. When you first walk in you're thinkin "Alright... dive bar eh?" and then you're seated for dinner in the back where the atmosphere is really cute. While waiting for my boyfriend at the bar, the bartender and the staff were really personable and funny and recommended a really great beer (that also happened to be fairly inexpensive so I knew he wasn't just trying to sell me). A couple was eating at the bar next to me and her burger smelled so amazing I was tempted to rip it out of her hands. When we were seated, the waitress explained to us that the menu is set up as a tasting menu. We each got two entrees. I got the baramundi & the fishermans platter (which came with delicious kiwi & jalapeno salad) and my boyfriend got the razor back ribs & the kangaroo sausage. Everything was great. I'm definitely going back soon. I have to reach to find a fault - but if I had to name one it would be that the place is a bit noisy... but its a lively place so if you're looking for a really intimate setting then pass for now and bookmark it for another time. Good music, great food & friendly staff.

At first glance, you think, "fun bar, but where's the restaurant?" it's in the back.... first, have a signature cocktail with fresh strawberries and home-infused vodka and chat with the supernice australian staff who go out of their way to make you happy. The bessie on a stick and the kangaroo sausage were unique and tasty. The fish and chips were the best we ever had! we must go back to try the calamari, burger, boar ribs, and barra fish. Good australian bottled beer. Our new favorite spot. A great change of pace.
