i've been to the sunburnt cow twice and i enjoyed the food both time very much but i did think it was a bit pricey when i went on a thursday night. when i went on a monday, it was totally worth it. on monday's, everything is $5 so i ordered plenty of food! their steak burger is my favorite!

We went to the Sunburnt Cow this past weekend for drinks and dinner. Honestly, we really can't complain: Our server was friendly, the food was tasty, and the rustic, open-air decor feels very Australian. But I would be reserved about going back because I thought the prices were a little on the high side for the quality and quantity of food. Not that the food wasn't good (it was) or that we left hungry (we didn't), but I felt that when we paid what we paid, we should have been a little more blown away than we were. Still, it is a nice and fun place to eat. Take a stroll through La Plaza Cultural up Avenue C, if it's open, to work up an appetite before you go the restaurant--it's beautiful at sunset.

Just got home from dinner here and wanted to post to echo everyone else's comments about how awesome this place is! The waiter was extremely helpful and very fun. The drinks were very strong and a good value for the amount of alcohol that was in them. The food - I wish that I could have eaten more. Everything that our table had was delicious and we were left stuffed. Our waiter convinced us to order dessert and it was worth the sweet finish. A definite go to in Alphabet City.

I haven't had a moment to write this till now, but on April 13th, I had a party of 7 people there for my birthday, and they couldn't have been nicer! The owner called me back personally to confirm the party, and from then on it was all smooth sailing. They are super nice, every single one of them, and the free shots they set up for us more than once were really yummy. The birthday pavlova on the house was a wonderful surprise, and all my friends loved the atmosphere, the food, and the hospitality! I highly recommend this place and will go back often!

Came here with my gf on a friday night. The outdoor setting with comfy seating was very different from other places. This was my first time eating Austrailian food and lemme tell you..it was soo good I didn't want to leave. We ordered the Cow's Salad - that was so fresh and so delicious. The Fisherman's Basket was filled with a heaping calamari, friend shrimps and fish fillets. You gotta dip it in the sauce to savor it. The ribs were also very tender and juicy and it has taste!! We also had side dishes of grilled asparagus and the corn and crab ragout. Everything was suberb! The waitress was very courteous and nice in explaining things. Would definitely return!!!

I came with a group of 10 friends to celebrate my birthday. And they made me feel like I was worth celebrating! A round of shots for the table and a birthday drink and cake were all comped. The night was gorgeous and the open air seating area was perfect. The menu appeared simple - ideal for such a large group - but everything on it was delicious. The waitress and bartenders were Australians - complete with make-you-swoon accents. I can't wait to go back.
