One of my faves
Per the bad review, u should really go back and try the roti and the steamed buns, they don't get much better than that

Go Here Often
Last night we had dinner at The Sunburnt Calf BK. We had made a reservation however since the table wasn't ready immediately the owner invited us to have a drink at the bar and served us Shrimp Toast on the house. The cocktails were excellent (Kaffir Lime Gimlet, Zu Moscow Mule) and the Shrimp Toast was a nice little touch given our 30 minute wait. Once we were seated, our server Pete, brought us another on the house appetizer - the Salmon Tartar - and advised us well on the best picks from the menu. We loved the Roti Wrap, the Pork Buns, the Bok Choi and the Banh-xeo Vietnamese crepe. The Massaman curry was just spicy enough and the chicken skewers tender. We had several bottles of the Ball Buster Shiraz and for dessert (again on the house) sampled the Thai Teacakes which were delicious. The owner was extremely courteous and came back several times to make sure we were happy, our server Pete was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list and when it came to paying our cheque we found they had given us quite a discount which was a very nice surprise. Food came out quickly even when the place was extremely busy, and the atmosphere was wonderful: great decor, fabulous music at just the right volume and completely cool, amiable wait staff. We felt looked after, entertained and enjoyed our evening immensely: I can't wait to return for brunch.

Disappointing
Passed by and stopped in on Sunday for brunch. How is it possible that a restaurant with such a great atmosphere (flat screens all over with the fight scenes from Bruce Lee movies and other Kaarate flicks!!) and great music (back in the day soul music that had everyone bouncing in their seats!!) and great customer service (the waiters and waitresses could not possibly be more attentive and informative!) serve such subpar food? Huge non-descript pork patties in a bowl of luke warm rice that was flavored with nothing more than tomato sauce from a can topped with greasy mushrooms and cold bok choy. My friend's meal was no better. Since I loved the atmosphere, I will return for drinks only. They better get their act together quickly or they will not last very long serving food like this.
