The Stanton Social
Posted by trynewplaces on 04/20/2009
I came to Stanton Social with VERY high expectations, as I have heard great things from everyone I know who has gone. I thought the atmosphere was fantastic - a perfect place to go with a group of friends. I do not eat red meat, and was therefore pleased to see that I could still eat most tapas on the menu. Everything we got, and we tried about 15 items, was very good, nothing was outstanding. The drinks were also good, but certainly not the best I've had around the city. Out waitress was great - friendly and attentive. I knocked off .5 from service because the hostess was rude - but with everything else being an overall pleasant experience, we certainly didn't let it ruin our night.

I live in the area and I have heard all the hype... The place is cool, the food is alright but DROWNED IN SALT, and the service is fine. Not worth the money for the portions that made me feel like a giant holding normal food.

decent food, expensive drinks. our waiter was really attentive and helpful, too bad i could barely hear him. i was surprised at how loud it was early on a thursday night. i was eating with one other person and could barely hear them over the music. also, at one point they moved a table so that it backed up into ours, not so comfortable. most of the waiters did not make an effort to avoid bumping into our chairs. all in all, food is not worth sitting through this.

This place used to be amazing, not sure what happened. Seems theyre coasting on the reviews and have gotten lazy. The atmosphere is still really nice and the service was pretty good. The potato and goat cheese pierogies were definitely the highlight. Red Snapper tacos were a little fishy. The sauce on the edamame was pretty tasty, but the texture of the actual soybeans were a bit slimy. The butternut squash and sweet potato ravioli was a little boring and the apple and brie quesadilla just fell flat. The donuts with the trio of dipping sauces are by far THE BEST part of the meal. Do not skip them.

I have been here several times and have had a great experience each time! On my last visit, we were with one of my friends who is wheat intolerant. The restaurant has a gluten-free menu and the waitress was very knowledgeable about what else would be gluten-free on the menu. All of the food was amazing and it was overall just a great experience. A few months ago, I also organized a group dinner on the mezzanine great place for a big group (although restaurant is a little loud)... there was so much food and the special price-fixe menu they did for us was a great value! Highly recommend!

we had a reservation at 9:30 on a friday night. And every got there promptly but we were not seated until 10:30, which I think is absolutely ridiculous. The staff were not nice about it and actually rude to us. The food was good but not worth the hour wait. wouldn't go again.

Went their on a friday after watching a play. We wanted something light since it was so late. We had reservation for 11:00 pm and had to wait upstairs at the bar for around 15 minutes. The wait was not to bad, we had a drink and they came upstairs to get us. I must say that the onion soup dumplings were delicious. We also had the spare ribs and that too was incredible. The server was very nice and didn't push for us to order extra food. Dessert was also great.
