I went here for my birthday and was really disappointed by my entire experience. we had a reservation and our table was empty when we got there, yet it still took 30 minutes for the table to be set and us to be seated. no one brought us a drink or wine list, until we had requested one at least twice. our waiter was friendly, but slow. after about forty minutes we had to ask to order our food. everything was decent, but nothing was amazing. i felt that this place was overpriced and didn't meet the hype. i was also disappointed by the ambiance, the restaurant didn't feel special, but more generic, like a how a resort might interpret the 'lower east side vibe.' i didn't feel it was worth the trip.

I was brought here by my brother and his girlfriend one very hungover afternoon....talk about the perfect fix! The general feel of the place is cozy and hip (if you can imagine that combination). The booth tables are great for, what else(?) socializing. The food is in a world of its own. Now, I went for brunch and it was by far one of the best I've had. Pancakes were perfect, sandwiches were great, eggs were delicious. They are made to share so you get small portions and get to try everything!! Just my style. The waiter lacked any sort of emotion and was slow but hey, everybody has a bad day, right? I have been dreaming about this place since I left. Please stop what you're doing and go now.

I ate dinner at the Stanton Social Friday night with a party of five. The hostess and wait staff were very indifferent. The bus boys however were pleasent and friendly. I thought the food was good but overpriced. With two bottles of wine and one cocktail the bill was $280 without tip. The wine list is on the high end price wise. We also had an early reservation and couldn't get into the restrooms (one downstairs and two upstairs) as the waitstaff spend a lot of time getting dressed and primped for work at the time. Overall I was glad I want but thought it was over-rated.

One of the best meals I've had in a while. This restaurant is able to make the absolute best version of the most random menu items. It is almost an upscale diner in the sense that you can get so many different kinds of food but the five star versions of them in a wonderful atmosphere with perfect service. So much fun for a date or large group and the restaurant has space, a rarity in LES, and the small plates are great for sharing. Trust me they all sound and taste so good, they are doing you a favor with small portions so you can order a few of them. Highly recommend the red snapper tacos!

Everything about this place is fabulous! The atmosphere is very hip and cutting edge. The service is great and the food is amazing. MUST try the French onion soup dumplings and the doughnut dessert. Very reasonable restaurant! So fun to share, as well.

It was some of the best food I have ever had in the city! The atmosphere was very cool, chick, and chill. It is a fabulous place to go with a few people so that you could taste more of the menu and we had phenomenal service --- the waitress was very knowledgeable, helpful, and not pushy. There was a constant flow of food and no long breaks, which is rare in many tapas restaurants. I highly recommend the Kobe beef burgers, french onion dumplings, and the doughnuts! and will DEFINITELY be going back here again, which I rarely say!

I have nothing but high marks for SS's variety of flavorful food and buzzing, yet relaxed atmosphere; BUT service is a different rating altogether. From the "chill" scene at the upstairs bar to the "easy" lighting and steady beats throughout the meal, Stanton was a great place to spend an hour or two. The food was unique and delicious. French Onion Dumplings, Grilled Squid wraps, Red Snapper Tacos, Pork Loin ... all top-notch. Each bite kept my taste buds guessing and my palate wanting more. Kudos! Our waitress kept us guessing too! What are the specials? What wine do you have by the glass? When will I get to order another drink? She tried to "up sell" on every order ("Just order some of those and those. They're small, so if you don't like them, so what."). In another service snafu, the bus boy knocked over a glass of wine onto my girlfriend. In fairness to him, he was apologetic and offered to pay the cleaning from his own pocket (we declined), but the waitress ignored it after blatantly looking at the wine-soaked shirt. So, my advice: GO! Enjoy the vibe, enjoy the food, don't expect great service ... and don't wear white.
