    Yummy small place

This place rocks. I walked in on Saturday night - there were no table avail till midnite. We went upstairs to the bar. The bartender was super attentive - and was more than happy to let us order food at the bar. After we ate - we were finally (an hour wait) seated in the lounge. The staff was very courteous and thanked us for waiting. The food never disappoints - and yes its a bit pricey - but we're in Manhattan - HEL-LO! My only complaint is that they dont keep some extra tables waiting for walk ins. I'm going back on Thurs with a ressie....

    Outstanding.

Unbelievable tapas. The portions are a bit small for the price, but seriously the food is that good. Everything on the menu is incredible and worth it. If you are looking for a nice date place this is perfect.

    Mighty Social

I have eaten at the SS several times. Food has always been excellent and wait staff more than courteous. I have trouble understanding the cranky reviews. I have gone with groups of four or six and everyone was always happy. The only improvement I could suggest is that they lower the music a little, but for those onion soup dumplings, crabcake corn dogs and crispy oysters Rockefeller, I can handle it.

    Not so impressed

I went with a big group last night and was not very impressed. Despite having a reservation, we were seated more than 30 minutes late after waiting in the crowded entrance without so much of an apology. The place was so loud that you could not hear the person next to you. The service was very slow and we could never find the waitress to order more drinks. While most of the food was actually pretty good and interesting, it was extremely overpriced for bite size portions. I definitely do not recommend the squid lettuce cups. Overall, I will not go back to Stanton Social and do not recommend it.

    Great food, service...

My bf and I went last night (second time for me). Before we went to dinner, I read few of the bad reviews and I got worried that things went down hill since my last visit. I have to say, we had a great evening. Seated right away - great table, our waitress was wonderful and of course the food was exceptional. The only negative are the prices for small portions, but we shared three dishes and each had a kobe beef burger and we were pretty full. Very enjoyable evening and very pleased with the service!

    Not so social

There is a little too much attitude and arrogance at the Stanton Social. From the hostess to the bartender and wait staff no one seemed to really care about your dining experience. The “sexy” bartender certainly took his time before approaching anyone in our party for drinks, and our waiter occasionally glanced our way throughout the entirety of the evening. The menu was very good however and the food was delicious. I would only pay this restaurant one visit.

    Don't Bother.....

Six of us went there on a Tuesday night and the place was busy, which was a good sign...That right there was the best part of the experience. The food was actually decent. I can not complain too much about that. It was pricey with small portions, but that is to be expected at a place like this. With that being said, it was still not a very good value. The biggest problem was the service. Service was painfully slow. I should have ordered 2 drinks at a time to make up for it. If they are that slow on a Tuesday, I can't imagine how slow the service is on the weekend. Also, the staff was rude. It was like they were trying to rush you out of there so they could flip the table. I felt like I was having lunch at a Chinese Restaurant. Basically, the waitress placed the bill on the table without asking if we would like anything else. A few minutes later, she picked up the bill (we had not even looked at it yet) and was acting like she thought we had taken care of it, a strategic "nudge" to get us out of there. It was like this restaurant thinks everyone is stupid and plays little games like that. They proabably train their wait staff to use such tactics. Of our group, my girlfriend and I spent $100 on 5 drinks and 3 appetizers. We were so unsatisfied, after we left, we wound up eating dinner somewhere else @ 10:30pm. I would not go back. Two thumbs down! Actually, four thumbs down, 2 from my girlfriend as well.
