    This place rocks!

Perplexed to see some of these negative reviews. I've eaten here a number of times prior to BAM events and I always enjoy it. Last night my friend and I both had the baby back ribs with smoked greens, mac and cheese and beers. Ribs were great, sides were passable - not the best m&c I've ever had, but whatever. The bill came to $43 including the tax. Service was friendly and efficient. For those who say this place is expensive -- compared to what, I wonder? Maybe to a fast food place, but this is not a fast food place. It's an affordable restaurant with a relaxed ambiance. The newly added corner space is more like a bar and is pleasant with it's large open windows on two sides. Check this place out, you won't regret it.

    overpriced, poor service, alrigfht food

Now that they have "waitresses" and you don't just order your food yourself, I can tell you I will never eat here again. Maybe to go, maybe. Why should I pay a tip because the food took longer to come with a waitress, than the last time I was here. The food is already very expensive, overpriced.

    great food... but come on!

The food is delicious, but they need to do something about the service. If it is even slightly crowded, the place just shuts down.

    Good meat and beer!

I really enjoyed my visit. The beef short ribs were exceptional, the collards were perfect, and the server was very knowlegeable about the beers and helped us all to make good decisions. I really wish it wasn't so expensive - it's great, but I just can't afford to do it very often.

    YUM for some things

Mac and Cheese is delicious! It's the 'dry' kind, my fave. Beef short ribs also delicious! The meat falls right off the bone but be warned, they are PRICEY. Pulled pork sandwich only ok, a little dry Collard Greens - too salty, a little spicy Coleslaw - yum! Lots of pepper. Sausage - kind of boring Chicken - kind of boring, dry Casual, comfortable atmosphere

Cant live with it, cant live without it

The brooklyn wings, spicy fries and corn on the cob with joint rub are slammin. However, the potato salad and the mac and cheese are not good. The potatoes are not cooked right and the mac and cheese has no taste.

    they will smoke your wallet

they don't call it the smoke joint for nothing a sandwich, a side of fries, and a can of beer or bottled soda will run you 15 dollars, easy. add a couple more sides and your are in mid-20$. which i guess most people moving into the neighborhood don't care about but i have to mention this up front the place is pricey. for example, it would be nice to be able to order wings for lets say less than 7 dollars. the food is good though, the people who work there are nice, friendly, good to talk to, etc. i'd eat there more often if it was a little more reasonable price wise.
