I mainly order in from Smoke Joint, and they've always been quick to deliver (yes, the food is hot), and its great BBQ. Occasionally, I grant that their chicken can be on the dry side, but these discrepancies are easily overlooked. The ribs are outstanding, and usually a huge serving. Their sides are great. A reviewer at the top of the stack said they sometimes don't know what they've got on the menu.... well, there's an informal charm to it, and most know its either collard greens or spinach. The Hacked Beef, Pork, & Chicken dishes are excellent, and as a lover of cole slaw I will speak highly of their mix, which is not too sour, sweet, but always crispy & the lightest of their sides (get the mac & cheese too.)

The ribs at The Smoke Joint are delicious. It's a little pricey, and the newly introduced waitstaff isn't the most attentive in the world, but there's really nothing to complain about at this place, except not being able to fit more ribs on the table. If there's a better rib spot within walking distance, I don't know of it.

The Ambiance @ the smoke joint is wonderful. The service is great. They give you your space, while being helpful. The Food comes rather quickly and taste very good. 5 stars!!!

I had only gone to the Smoke Joint once but the service, food and atmosphere was so great I brought my girlfriend back. My server was friendly curteous and personable. I didn't know what I wanted to order but he ask my personal taste in food and made a suggestion from that and I went with it and my choice turned out to be awesome. I enjoyed his personality and commentary immensely. When I come back I want him as my server he was great and my girlfriend says so too.

Perplexed to see some of these negative reviews. I've eaten here a number of times prior to BAM events and I always enjoy it. Last night my friend and I both had the baby back ribs with smoked greens, mac and cheese and beers. Ribs were great, sides were passable - not the best m&c I've ever had, but whatever. The bill came to $43 including the tax. Service was friendly and efficient. For those who say this place is expensive -- compared to what, I wonder? Maybe to a fast food place, but this is not a fast food place. It's an affordable restaurant with a relaxed ambiance. The newly added corner space is more like a bar and is pleasant with it's large open windows on two sides. Check this place out, you won't regret it.

Now that they have "waitresses" and you don't just order your food yourself, I can tell you I will never eat here again. Maybe to go, maybe. Why should I pay a tip because the food took longer to come with a waitress, than the last time I was here. The food is already very expensive, overpriced.
