Didn't cry, but didn't leave smiling...
BBQ is what I live for. Biggest complaint: All meat dishes (baby-back, chicken and links) were dry. In addition, the sides attempt to be too daring, and ends up tasting experimental. Server was friendly, but not the most efficient. I love the rustic decor, but I hate when this doesn't translate into comfort. If I want shabby-chic, I'd go to grandma's. The coleslaw was yummy, but the pot. salad, mac & cheese and baked beans were just blah. I would go back with friends, knowing they'd probably not be as critical as me. Sitting there, all I could think about was making the trip to Manhattan for some "Cowgirl" BBQ. BTW, you made need an extra glass of ice to down the limeade.

Never Goin' Back Again
I love BBQ, and b/c this is the only place to get it near me, I gave The Smoke Joint many many chances before officially giving up. Their food is not bad, if you get what you ordered. And if you get that, good luck having a hot meal. They advertise "Delivery" but they don't really deliver. If you get take out, you may as well order at 10 am if you want dinner that night. In addition, sit in service is poor. They serve about as slowly as they roast pork. When they make mistakes, which they will, you better believe they are the last to apologize (if they acknowledge it at all.) Unfortunately, Smoke Joint is a waste of time and money.

Slow or Non-Existent Delivery
I love Smoke Joint, but their delivery service seems to "jam up" every once in a while. Maybe they're just getting too many calls, but I get the feeling someone just puts the phone off the hook after they take too many orders. Very frustrating when all you want are some ribs.

Good BBQ
Wings are great, ribs are really good and I've never had a bad side. Great neighborhood spot

Cut the whining
I mainly order in from Smoke Joint, and they've always been quick to deliver (yes, the food is hot), and its great BBQ. Occasionally, I grant that their chicken can be on the dry side, but these discrepancies are easily overlooked. The ribs are outstanding, and usually a huge serving. Their sides are great. A reviewer at the top of the stack said they sometimes don't know what they've got on the menu.... well, there's an informal charm to it, and most know its either collard greens or spinach. The Hacked Beef, Pork, & Chicken dishes are excellent, and as a lover of cole slaw I will speak highly of their mix, which is not too sour, sweet, but always crispy & the lightest of their sides (get the mac & cheese too.)
